Family Photos

I believe in the value of pictures, we recently lost most of the pictures on our home computer due to it crashing and I was devastated! I have started taking all of my facebook pictures and transferring them back to my computer to save to disk but we still did loose a lot. It was pretty sad.

Just after that happened we were going in to have some amazing photos done by our friend and amazing photographer Karen Mckinnon and I love them so so so much! They are priceless for us. They were taken on Brandon's third birthday and we will never get that day back so we will have it instead framed on our walls forever!!

Here is a pic with Kristina's with my brand new neice, she loves babies just as much as here mama, some people call me a baby hog! Its also what her hair usually looks like, kinda frizzy and messy and just well really messy. In the pictures by Karen Mckinnon my girlfriend used her flat iron from Flat Iron Experts and it looks way better! We also used it on my wavy hair and it looked so much smoother and made me look more put together! Check out the gorgeous pictures and make sure you tell me how pretty I am :)

Green Beaver with a Giveaway **Closed**

My husband is highly allergic to wheat, he was tested in the past for celiac's and it was negative but not even spelt and oats are getting to be to bothersome so we are going to have him retested. Chances are you know someone with a wheat allergy, or with celiac's disease. Its a hard disease to live with. You have to be careful with everything you ingest and for some even what you put onto your body. You have to read the ingredients on everything, and you need to keep checking them even with the products you use all the time because they can change there ingredients and you need to know!

Kris doesn't need to watch what he puts on his body at this point, knock on wood, but even things like crumbs in the butter can be horrible for him! If you know of someone who has to live with this horrible disease then Green Beaver is something that you need to know about! They have just created a new line of certified gluten free products for you and your family! Keep in mind that just because it doesn't have gluten in the ingredient list doesn't mean that its certified gluten free like Green Beaver is!

They also don't contain any chemical preservatives, petrolatum, synthetic fragrances, dyes, phthalates, or any other chemical ingredients! At only $5.99 and $9.99 they are a great deal and of course they were awesome!

Brandon has been using the body wash and its awesome! It lathered up great, smelled wonderful and rinsed clean away! It was a great natural body wash, definitely one of my favorites!! Simple Green with a Giveaway **Closed**

I am hugely obsessed with cleaning, I have a bit of OCD, I love having a clean house and actually really love cleaning it! There something very satisfying about cleaning, its relaxing, and calming to me. I can't sit still or relax when my house is a mess! Its also the reason why I end up in bed so late every night. I can't stand going to bed when the house is a mess, so I like to clean it all up before I go to bed so that I don't have to do right when I wake up! Although I do end up having to clean up after the kids when I get up :)

I would much rather use natural and non toxic cleaners whenever possible. I won't use them though if hey don't work! I can't stand when a product doesn't work just because its all natural. Its a cleaning product and bottom line is that it needs to work!

Simple Green sent me some of their all purpose cleaner and I have fallen in love with it! It works on everything and anything! It works fabulously, smells good, not strong but has a nice light clean scent, you can dilute it to what you need, it can replace almost all of your cleaners and more!

The makers of Simple Green have spent over $3 million to verify the safety claims and unique formulation. Concentrated Simple Green had it right from the start. An environmentally-sensitive non-toxic cleaner/degreaser that really works and can be economically custom-diluted for many, many different uses. From floors and walls to pots and pans, from windows to sinks and drains, from stained carpets to greasy tools, it only takes a little Simple Green to get big jobs done around the house.

Simple Green is one of the most versatile all-purpose cleaners you can buy! It’s non-toxic and biodegradable, without harmful bleach. Because it is a concentrate, you can custom dilute Simple Green to clean just about anything dirty. It replaces most cleaners, detergents, degreasers and laundry pre-soaks you're using now!

Discover the value and power of Simple Green. And your green will go a lot further too.

Where to Use Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner can be used on any washable surface, from floors and walls to laundry and vehicles (see Applications/Dilution Ratio Chart). It removes the toughest stains including dirt, grease, oil, pet stains, coffee & juice stains, lipstick, blood, adhesives & much more!

If you would love the chance to try out this awesome cleaner I have a great giveaway for you!! Simply Green has offered one lucky winner a container of the Simple Green all purpose cleaner with a spray bottle like I got!

Neve Designs

I received the most gorgeous sweater in snow from Neve Designs and I am so close to fitting it, its a size XL and I am typically a 3x! I would definitely say they are generously sized but not a tonne though, its very tight on me, and a bit to short, lol, because I am usually in a 3x but I try it on all the time and can't wait until it fits me! Usually when review items don't fit me or I won't use much I hand them off to close friends and family and get there opinions and thoughts on what they think of the product but not this time!!
I love this sweater so much that I know I will fit into it one day and I can't stand to even think of giving it away! Its classic yet different and funky, because I got the black and white it goes with everything, you can dress it up and dress it down, its super warm and I will definitely keep checking their site for new great and gorgeous products! You should check them out too!

Neve Designs carries, not only some of the most gorgeous sweaters I have seen, but scarves, hats, wraps, socks, and more!! And they have them for men and women! Be sure to check them out!!

My Wonderful Walls with a great giveaway **Closed**

If you could decorate your child's room in any way possible without money coming into the scenario what would you do? I would love to do a mural but how many people can afford to have a mural painted in their child's room and then of course when you have another child they can't be left out, you would have to get them one too! I thought that the closest thing to having a mural in Brandon's room would be vinyl wall art but I was wrong. Now everybody can afford to have a mural in their child's room. Whether you are artistic, or have zero ability, you can do this.

The kits from My Wonderful Walls include everything you need to make your project successful! They come with sheets of stencils, that stick to the wall which makes it 100 times easier, the paintbrushes, pictures and ideas of how to do it and you can even get the paint from My Wonderful Walls as well! My Wonderful Walls also carries canvas and nursery art, along with the kids murals!

My Wonderful Walls sent us the dinosaur mural stencil kit for Brandon's room and I can't wait to put it up! He can't wait for his dinosaur kids room!! All I need to do is pick up the blue for the sky and the green for the grass and a few days to paint. I love that you can use each stencil again and again and again, even if you move, you still have your stencils and can redo your mural in your new home! I love that you can stick the stencils to the walls so you can get a feel for how you want it to look before you actually paint. And best of all I love that anyone can do this!

I tried to paint Brandon's room a year or so ago with polka dots myself and it looked okay from a distance but looked so sloppy once you went into the room because you just can't do a great circle with just a paintbrush. Its to hard, but with My Wonderful Walls you can get a polka dot kit and it comes with all different sizes and you can use it for all your kids, your bathroom, anywhere. You just choose your colors and go!

I can't get enough of this product and will definitely be back to My Wonderful Walls again in the future! I want them to make like a math, learning stencil kit for Kristina's room, she wants a math room :)

My Wonderful Walls has generously offered up a $75 gift certificate to one lucky winner!

Not Finding Out!

Did you find out what you were having when you were pregnant? I did, I am a surprise ruiner though. I am the one who wants to open presents on Christmas eve and doesn't want to wait until my birthday to open my gift! So many parents choose not to find out what sex their baby is going to be and that's awesome too! There is nothing like the surprise of getting to meet your little one at the same time as finding out what they look like and weather they are a Jack or a Jenn!

The downside to not finding out is that you can't buy ahead of time and pick everything out! Sure you can look around and kind pick it out and just wait until the little one arrives to go buy it all, because that sounds like fun! Or you can go with the fun green and yellow colors! Now if that sounds like a reason to ruin your surprise, check this out!

Not Finding Out is an online shop that sells not only the neutral items but everything you could want for your little boy or girl! They have tub toys for every child and towels that come in pink or blue! They have everything that you could want to purchase for someones baby shower and now you can buy it before they have their baby and order it in pink or blue!

Basically you go to their site and set up a registry if you are pregnant, when you are adding items to the registry if they have an NFO in brackets beside it them that means that it comes in two options, girl and boy! If someone decides to buy you one of the NFO items then it won't ship until you, or whoever who assign, sends in something saying that you had your baby! You can even have your doctor send it in early if they know what you are having and you don't even have to know!! When purchasing your friends can have you sent a card saying that they bought you this and will it be pink or blue! All of the items will be shipped as soon as NFO knows that you have had your baby! How fun is that!!

You could even pick out an older sibling gift from Not Finding Out! We got to try out a Green Toys tea set that Brandon is in love with! He loves to play with his play kitchen and make food for us all the time. We drink a lot of tea and so he loved being able to make us our own pot of tea and serve us tea! Its fabulous quality and will last us years! Kristina even likes to play with it!

Make your own Bean Bags!

Ok I have been kinda crafty lately and have been wanting to share! The other day I read about making your own felt bean bags on Our Big Earth and I decided that Brandon would love them and that I wanted to make them too! Off I went to pick up some more felt and some bulk beans. Turns out they didn't have bulk beans and I didn't like any of the felt colors, I am a bit picky!

So I let Brandon pick out the fabric we were going to use and grabbed a bag of beans! I cut the fabric up into the sizes that I wanted it and decided that because Brandon is so rough on things I couldn't just make it one layer thick because how annoyed will I be with myself if after a week it ends up split open and ruined! So we did 3 layers and they should hold up great!

I sewed up three full sides and half of the fourth and then left the needle and thread attached and turned it inside out and filled it up with how many beans I thought I would need and then finished sewing the last bit! I had originally hoped to use my Nana's sewing machine but its broken so I had to hand sew all of it! It wasn't what I had hoped for but really didn't take as long as I thought it would!

I got 4 out of 5 done and the last is 3/4 done just waiting for some more beans! Brandon loves them, so does Kristina, we played some catch in the house, it snowed today, and I am sure we will get lots of use out of them!

Do you have any other easy sew projects for me? This one was fun!

Flat Iron Experts

When I am thinking of getting anything I want to go to the experts, so when looking for a flat iron, why not go to Flat Iron Experts?

I got the KQC flatiron to review and although I really loved it, it worked great on Kristina's hair, we really didn't need two straight irons so I gave it to my girlfriend and asked her to tell me what she thought of it!

This flatiron works great! The ceramic surface heats up very quickly and it has a great range of heat, my hair is very thick and naturally curly so the high heat setting available is exactly what I need. The iron is not as wide as ones I have used previously and that makes it great for creating instant curls and waves. This iron does as good a job as any brand a stylist has used on me

Here is its description online!

KQC is the fastest growing manufacturer of electrical personal care appliances, from hair straighteners, hair dryers and curling irons. KQC products are made in the Korea; they are known to produce the best and most advanced ceramic / tourmaline heaters. KQC flat iron is #1 choice for professional in British Columbia and is expanding around the world. It delivers high performance product design to help you achieve salon finish at home. Flat Iron Experts rated KQC flat iron as the #1 best flat iron ; we recommend KQC flat irons with confidence.

If you are in the market for a new flat iron, curler or hair dryer be sure to check out Flat Iron Experts as they have some awesome prices, plenty of information, and great promotions going on!

How to make your own dryer balls

So I had been wanting to get some dryer balls for quite a while now and really wanted to make them myself because it seemed so easy and then they could look however I wanted them too! the first time I tried to make them I just bought 100% wool, wound them into balls and wet felted them. They looked great but only lasted a week or so in the dryer before they fell apart. Clearly I wasn't doing something right!
This time I got 100% felting wool that was very soft and fluffy, much easier to felt. They have worked great and I am thinking about making some up for Christmas gifts for next year! Here is what you do!

Once you buy the wool, here is what mine looked like, you start to wrap in into a ball. Its easier if you start wrapping the wool around your two fingers and then once you have done that about 10 times you pull it off and start wrapping the wool around the opposite way! Once it gets a bit bigger you can start changing the direction of the wool and just continue to wrap and wrap and wrap until its at least an inch bigger than you want it to be (felting will cause it to shrink.)

Once you have the ball at the size you want it, I use about half of the wool off of the ball, you need to cut off the wool and then use a crochet needle, or something similar, to stuff the end of the wool into the center of the ball.

Next it is time to felt. I like to wet felt my dryer balls because its so simple. You put the balls into a pantyhose or knee high and knot it between each ball and then knot the top. You put them in the wash on as hot as you can make it, lots of agitation, and then dry on high. If you do the whole process twice, it makes them even stronger! This time after the first cycle through I took a needle felting needle and needle felted in the loose ends. This worked great and just made everything that was a little bit loose tighten up and look great. The end piece of wool sometimes can come a little bit loose and this worked great for that!

Do you buy or make wool dryer balls, or do you even know what they are?

Crafty Mama!

So I have never really considered myself crafty at all, I guess because I can't draw a good stick figure I thought I wouldn't be good at any kind of crafts! I don't like messy crafts, glue and sparkles but with a little boy who will be 3 on Saturday I have to craft with him. He absolutely loves it and I can't not let him experience the fun of doing crafts! His sister went to a preschool like daycare so she had lots of opportunity to do crafts and still loves doing them!

When I came into the kitchen the other day this is what I saw! How can you say not right now to this! He was so excited to do it and then so proud of himself when we were all done. If you are nervous about crafting with a little one, like I still am sometimes all you need to do is ask them what they want to make. We have a bunch of containers from the dollar store filled with sequins, pom poms, stars, foam pieces, letters, craft sticks, googly eyes, and more. He just tells me what he wants to make, yesterday was a monster, so I cut out a head shape from construction paper, and he wanted it to have sunglasses so I cut those out too and he glued them on. Then he just choose what he wanted to glue on and where. It was very easy, stress free, and best of all he loved it!

What crafts do you make with your kids, I need more ideas :)

Giveaway at Little One Books!

Little One Books is currently offering a contest to win a $50 Gift Certificate to use on their site. The button to sign up for the contest is on their homepage. There are lots of ways for someone to win so make sure you check it out here!

In the thirty years that have elapsed since raising our own children, we've never lost sight of the important role that books, music and video play in a child's early life. As we sought out appropriate material for our granddaughter, we were overwhelmed by the variety of products available. Only after a long and arduous journey did we stumble across the restful bedtime music we'd been seeking in the form of an exceptional music box set that offered soothing sounds for tiny ears. Even though she is now five, our granddaughter still enjoys listening to what she calls "soft music" while going to sleep.

Our search would have been so much easier had someone been able to guide us. That's why we created Little One Books - to help others make informed choices from among the vast amount of material available for children today.

We specialize in quality books, music, and video, for children birth through age five, and have personally reviewed and selected each and every item in our store. You'll find detailed information on why we prefer a particular product in our "Why We Chose" section of each product page.

At Little One Books, we match each product to what we believe is the youngest appropriate age group. However, our carefully selected items can and will be used for many years to come. As children develop they often find pleasure in revisiting illustrations from old favorites, and eventually learning to read them on their own.

Neve Designs - How to change clothes to something you love!

Founded in 2002, Neve is a specialty manufacturer of knit sweaters and accessories based in Boulder, Colorado. Our products are defined by their beauty, quality and fresh, contemporary approach to classic Nordic styling. Using only the finest materials, such as ultra-fine Merino wool and other luxurious and natural fibers, Neve is known for bold patterns, rich colors and active fits.

Neve creates products that are distinctly functional and fashionable both on and off the slopes. Our commitment is to craftsmanship, customer service and supporting our quality retail partners in North America and Europe.

Neve Desings makes some of the most gorgeous and stunning pieces I have seen in a long time! They are made with wool as well as other amazing fibers, which tend to be kind of plain looking for us but most of the Neve Designs pieces are stunning. It just so happened that the piece that they sent me for review was one of the only ones I really didn't like. It just wasn't my style, and although I offered it to a few of my friends and none of them were to keen on it either.
One of my coworkers keeps a really cool house though and because the sweater was 80% wool we started thinking of ways that she could use it. Basically we liked the sweater and all of the polka dots on it just not the red strip down the center over the buttons so we thought why not take off the red strip. It was pretty difficult with scissors as it was sewn on very well but with stitch rippers, it was a breeze! My coworker ended up with a gorgeous sweater that she loved and will keep her very warm!

Check out all of the other gorgeous designs from Neve Desings! They have a great selection of mens and womens clothing as well as hats, scarves and more!
