Lush

I have been admiring Lush from afar for a while now and am super excited to be able to tell you about some of their products that I got to try out! If you have ever walked past a Lush store the smell is enough to draw you in. Its not too many scents at once and overloaded though. I don't know how they do it but the smell was amazing! They have great prices and some amazing products! I am hooked!

Our Core Beliefs:

We believe in making effective products from fresh, organic* fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics.

We invent our own products and fragrances. We make them fresh by hand using little or no preservative or packaging, using only vegetarian ingredients, and tell you when they were made.

We believe in buying ingredients only from companies that do not commission tests on animals and in testing our products on humans.

We believe in happy people making happy soap, putting our faces on our products and making our mums proud.

We believe in long candlelit baths, sharing showers, massage, filling the world with perfume and in the right to make mistakes, lose everything and start again.

We believe our products are good value, that we should make a profit and that the customer is always right.

We also believe words like fresh and organic have honest meaning beyond marketing.

I got to try the Dreamwash Shower Smoothie for my sensitive skin and I love it. I usually use bar soap but you don't need a scrubbie for this. You just scoop some out onto your hands and run away. Its smells good and washed up great. The first ingredient was calamine powder which surprised me but it was nice and light and fluffy. I love it!

My new favorite moisturizer is now Celestial Moisturizer. I love it. It quenches my skin without being greasy at all and has a nice light scent to it, not strong at all though which is nice. There is no grease to this moisturizer at all, I use it everyday and my skin has had no problems with it at all. I usually have to use $30 or $40 fancy face creams and this is a dream. I can't wait to pick up some more and stock up. It comes in a 45 gram container and should last me at least 2 months as is only $21.95, what a steal.

They both came in these great black containers that are totally recyclable without a box or any other un necessary wrapping which is great. Nothing to throw out when you get home and break into it. I loved the sticker on the back that had a little picture of the person who made it and its expiry date. It is so nice to see who actually made it and how long its good for instead of wondering if it has sat in a warehouse for 2 years before you bought it.

Kristina can't have bubble baths because it bothers her skin and she ends up with infections. She used to love bubble baths but hated the pain after and having to go back to the doctors again and again. We ended up having to give them up and she really missed it. Well Lush has a bath bomb called the Honey Bee Bath Bomb. She was so excited to use it. At only $5.95 it will last about 4-6 baths depending on how much you carve in. We just took a knife to it and carved some into the bath and she was in heaven.

It had a great scent to it and made the bath a nice light yellow. It didn't make the kids skin all greasy like they needed a shower after. This would make a great Easter basket stuffer or little gift for the little person in your life. Kristina loved it and next time we are around a Lush store I will definitely be picking up some more for her!

Lucky Puppy with Giveaway **Closed**

When long time friends Sandi Hochman and Jonathan Cathey joined forces to create products for fellow dog enthusiasts, an innovative lifestyle brand with a focus on children’s fashion was founded. Sandi’s adoration for all things dog related merged with Jonathan’s creativity is the basis behind Lucky Puppy. Admittedly so adorable, the only tagline deemed appropriate was “Nothing But Cute”.

While Lucky Puppy is cute and adorable, the real heart of the brand is what makes it irresistible. Created with the idea of giving back, each online purchase of Lucky Puppy helps to rescue a homeless dog. Lucky Puppy is dedicated to matching strays with loving families and they succeed by partnering with various animal foundations on a local and national level.

For the initial launch phase of Lucky Puppy, the brand will partner with Much Love Animal Rescue and Paws and Learn Humane Education Center, two outstanding foundations; one dedicated to saving the lives of dogs by helping them find proper homes, the other through education in schools.

Lucky Puppy has some super cute clothes for kids! They have everything you need for your little one. They have shirts, onsies, dresses, hats, hoodies and more! They carry size 3-6 months all the way up to a 6! It has been harder to find cute, good quality clothes that go past 24 months for me lately. Maybe I just haven't found them yet but there seems like way more for under 24 months.

Anyways we got to try out the Lucky Puppy logo hoodie. I went with the face logo instead of the dish logo as it the dish logo seemed a bit girlie for my man. Maybe its just me though. We love this hoodie, the color looks amazing on him. We got a size 4 and it fits him great, only a tiny bit big for him. It should fit through next fall. It fits about the same as all of the size 3 hoodies he has so I would recommend ordering a size up. Its so soft and he loves to wear it, and he can say puppy so its definitely a fun one for him!

Lucky Puppy doesn't just carry kids clothes either, they also have some for adults. They make some hats a t shirts for you too. How cool is that? You can get matching shirts :) I would totally do that to my kids!

Lucky Puppy has offered up an item to one lucky winner! They will get to choose anything that is in stock on Lucky Puppy!

Do you play board games with your kids?

We do but not as often as I would like. I wish we had a movie night, a game night, a spa night (for Kristina and I) and so much more. There just isn't enough time in the day. I work nights 3 days a week and work weekends while my husband is home. There isn't a lot of family time going on around here lately but the time we do get together is very special to us. It makes us appreciate it more when we get it less too.

It seems as though all of the games on the market now a days is all about competition and being the winner. When there is a winner though there has to be a loser. I don't like that. I know that my kids need to learn about being a gracious looser and all but it seems so hard and fast. When I heard about the idea of cooperative games from Family Pastimes I was all ears.
Play as friends, not as enemies! Our games foster the spirit of co-operation. Players help each other climb a mountain, make a community, bring in the harvest, complete a space exploration... They are never against each other.

After all, the initial impulse to play a game is social; that is, we bring out a game because we want to do something together. How ironic then that in most games, we spend all our efforts trying to bankrupt someone, destroy their armies — in other words, to get rid of one another! We soon learn how to pick on the other person's weaknesses in order to win the game.

Let's take an example. A simple, common party game for socializing youngsters illustrates our point. Musical Chairs fosters aggression and elimination. Played co-operatively (see our Games Manual), you will see how hugging replaces pushing, how ability and strength are used to help rather than push out of the way.

People of different ages and abilities should be able to play side by side, each making their best contribution. In a co-operative game, someone young and little can play with others older and bigger and not worry about being wiped out. We are all there at the end of it.

Some cautions. We don't protect children from not making it to the summit or completing the space voyage. Our games are designed to offer realistic challenges. But the cultural habit of competing and confronting adversaries runs deep. Some players end up fighting the game itself. We suggest that you'll get better results learning how to get along with Time, Winter, Gravity, and Mountains rather than fighting them.

Aside from all these serious considerations, some people just want to share an enjoyable and challenging time with friends. We feel that co-operative games will prove to be that friendly form of fun.

The challenge. In sum, games are used in various settings and for various reasons, Socialization, entertainment, academic learning, character growth, etc. Whatever your objective, we invite you to realize them by co-operative means. Parents and teachers trying to teach children to share, be kind to living things, and help others out often are troubled by games and recreation programs which undermine these values. Our games provide the opportunity to experience sharing and caring behavior. We simply don't have enough of such experiences.

Family Pastimes was kind enough to send us a game to review. We got to try out the game Max! Kristina was excited as soon as it came in. I guess she has this game at school and they play it all of the time. Its nice to see games like this in schools. Kids do need to learn from competition and it is important but its also good to have a lot of cooperative play.

We have really enjoyed playing Max. It's all about helping all of the animals get home and for Max the tomcat to get fed. It was a lot of fun and you can have anywhere from 1-8 players and its for ages 4-7. I also like that its a great game for both boys and girls. If you are looking for a new way to play games with your kids this is a great way to do it!

Untangled Living with Giveaway **Closed**

How do you do feed your little ones? I thrifted some wooden bowls, didn't want any plastic, none of it was too safe last year, and glass just gets broken. I found a few melamine bowls and plates but none of it was just right. That's when I heard about Untangled Living.

Untangled Living makes stainless steel tableware for kids. Its not just boring old stainless steel either. Its engraved with a gorgeous Gecko or Butterfly! This is very gorgeous table wear. Something to ohh and ahh over at family dinners. It makes a great 1st birthday gift or just because you don't need another dish getting broken!

Untangled is a way of living. A way of believing, thinking and most importantly a way of living consciously – to make choices in our lives in full awareness and true free will. We all live much of the time in auto-pilot. Doing things “just because” and going places “just because” without really ever asking at each moment, “Is this what I really want? Why am I doing this? Does this work for me, my family and community, and ultimately for our world?” As a result we sometimes end up “tangled”. Asking these questions and then living through the truthful answers is living consciously – a way to get untangled.

Untangled is essentially Sue Volpe’s expression to the world: What she wants to communicate, her way of enriching the lives of others, her way to inspire, energize and excite! Sue chooses to live life consciously, making her own way. And now she would like to invite others to join in this way of living, one step at a time.

How do we get untangled? Stay connected! Stay connected to ourselves, to our families and community and to our world. This brings us to a place of balance and bliss.

Why children’s products? “...because this is where it all begins. As we raise our children, let our choices be conscious. Let us be the generation to raise our kids in full awareness. Let us give this gift to ourselves and our families – the gift that brings us happiness and health.

All we have is our words, our thoughts and our actions. So let’s say what we want, believe in our thoughts and run with it”, Sue Volpe.

Each set comes with a plate, bowl, spoon, fork, and cup. Everything you need all wrapped up in a nice box, great for giving. Brandon loves his new dishes and we are using them all of the time. If I could make one request of Untangled Living it would be to make another set of bigger dishes. They are just a bit to small to last for full meals until hes much past 3. But on the other hand they would still be a great size for snacks. I would love to get a bigger set for my daughter so they would have the same sets, just a big one and a small one.

Untangled Living has generously offered one of my readers a set of their own in either Butterfly or Gecko.

Baby Dipper with Giveaway **Closed**

Hello! I’m Barbara Schantz, mom of twin girls, Greta and Cora, born in 2004, and also the mother of twin boys, Franklin and Carlton, born in 2008. As a stay-at-home mom of twin babies, I faced the daunting task of feeding them. Frustrated with the bowls I had already purchased, I investigated and bought other bowls, but still remained disappointed. The vision for the Baby Dipper® bowl came to me when Cora and Greta were about 6 months old, not long after they started eating baby cereal and other pureed foods. I needed a bowl that required only one hand to successfully feed a baby, but why wasn't there one on the market that satisfied this need?

I was thinking that to accomplish one-handed feeding, the bowl should not slide around on the table and it should aid in the collection of the baby food. A non-slip bottom surface would keep it from sliding. A sloped interior surface and a spoon-shaped collection point would help gather the food down to the last bite. Also, adding to those features, vertical sides would help push food onto the spoon and transparent sides would allow the food to be seen easily by both the parent and the child. The bowl I designed has proven to make feeding much easier for parents and even for toddlers trying to spoon-feed themselves. The patented Baby Dipper bowl is truly unique in the marketplace and hopefully will help parents everywhere.

Brandon loves to feel himself. As I am a bit obsessed with cleanliness I hate when he ends up covered in food. Especially yogurt. Yogurt and Brandon don't seem to mix. He loves it but I hate the mess and waste that seem to always go along with it. He doesn't like me to feed him and well, he needs to learn to do it himself so I have been just sucking it up which doesn't seem like it should be necessary.

This bowl is amazing. It is a nice weight to it doesn't just flip over when they are trying to feed themselves and the attached rubber on the bottom really holds it in place. Brandon and I both love this bowl and we have WAY less mess when having yogurt. The spoon that it comes with fits perfectly in the corners and gets all of the food out and its so easy for Brandon to use. One end of the bowl is higher than the other so that the food all starts to slide to one side when there is not a lot left so its easier to get all of the food. I can't say enough about this bowl. Its also BPA free and totally safe for your little one!

Baby Dipper has offered up a bowl to one lucky winner!

hydraSense

Given that we're in the middle of cold season, it could not be timelier to announce Mom Central’s partnership with hydraSense® . Brandon actually just got over a really bad bout of bronchitis. It was awful. This would have been a lifesaver! I actually got excited when Kristina could finally blow her nose herself. Its a huge deal. Its something that you just can't wait for. It makes it so much easier when they are sick.

We had one of those cheap plastic nose suckers for both kids when they were babies and I used them religiously but they didn't really do a very good job. They only get a bit out and the suction isn't great. Also, the worst part, you can't really get them clean. You can run water into them but because they are all one piece you can't really get them clean. How gross is that!

The hydraSense Nasal Aspirator is awesome! It comes apart so you can clean it properly and has a filter that you change every time you use it. You basically put the one end in the baby's nose and the tube end in your mouth and you suck, so depending on how hard you suck, the more snot that comes out. And don't worry, it does not go into your mouth. That's part of what the filter is for. Its also clear so that you can see what color your baby's mucus is, which we moms know is important.

Since babies are unable to blow their nose and can develop as many as eight colds a year, our friends at hydraSense® have designed a new product that provides quick and effective relief from your baby’s nasal congestion and helps avoid excessive crying and poor sleeping.

The hydraSense® Nasal Aspirator and its filters were developed with pediatricians, and are brought to you by hydraSense® , the leading brand in saline solutions for the whole family. The hydraSense® Nasal Aspirator is a gentle and safe way to relieve your baby’s nasal congestion quickly and effectively. It helps to maintain clear breathing and to facilitate eating and sleeping. Its soft nasal tip is specifically designed for babies’ delicate noses and its transparent design allows for you to see the amount and type of mucus that is being removed. hydraSense® Nasal Aspirator has a protective single-use filter that traps excess mucus, providing hygienic aspiration. The tip and base of the aspirator are easily removable for effective cleaning after each use. Unlike squeezable nasal aspirators, the hydraSense® Nasal Aspirator allows you to control the strength of the suction with your aspiration.

For best results, and to liquefy mucus prior to aspiration, use hydraSense® Easydose® or hydraSense®Ultra-Gentle Mist with Comfort Tip, a nasal solution composed of isotonic, undiluted, sterile, 100% natural-source desalinated seawater. hydraSense® contains more than 70 trace elements and minerals naturally occurring in seawater and is preservative free.

hydraSense has a great coupon for you! Get an $8 off coupon by going to hydraSense by April 10th. All you do is sign up for the Dolphins Club and download your exclusive coupon. Once logged back into your account, they can enter the code MC2010 under the online coupons tab, in order to get an $8 off coupon to be used towards the purchase of the hydraSense® Nasal Aspirator (Coupon itself expires December 31, 2010).

Here's a great video of a mom using her hydraSense Nasal Aspirator!

Big Fat Hen

Big Fat Hen is a growing company based in Calgary, Alberta. In 2008, our mother and daughter team searched for the perfect bedding in anticipation of a new addition to our family. We turned up empty handed, so we decided to turn our hand to design. We got rave reviews and started listening to what parents wanted; we began creating blankets and other baby products that would appeal to parents looking for fresh, fun and functional designs.

Big Fat Hen’s designs appeal to modern parents who are looking for baby products combining functionality and durability with a fresh design and look. Our products come in a variety of contemporary printed designer fabrics with the softest material we could find-creating a look that is fresh, fun and functional. They are designed and handmade with superior craftsmanship in Victoria, BC.

Brandon loves his blankets. He loves his whole bed. When we put him to bed at night, and even for his nap, he doesn't fight it at all. He crawls right in pulls the blankets over himself and snuggles right in. Hes says night night and then rolls over. If you don't walk out he rolls back over and says bye bye and rolls back over. Its adorable. He loves his blankets and loves to cuddle with them in his bed and brings them onto the couch and likes to curl up with them and share them over his and his Sissys lap.

I love finding good quality, soft, and of course cute blankets for Brandon. The size of these blankets really make it so that they can grow with your child. You could get this blanket for a newborn and use it as a blanket to lay them on to play, for their bed when they are older, for the car, and so much more. Its a great size and the prints don't scream baby. They scream modern and fun! I also love that they are handmade, so you know that some love went into them and that they are made only 3 hours away from me!

Brandon got the Nicholas Blanket for review and loves it. Its a new favorite for him. I wish that we had it a few weeks prior though, for when he was sick. When he was sick he just layed on the couch and wanted to cuddle with his blankets. His twin comforter is much to big to bring onto the couch so this would have been perfect. We love his blanket and I know you will too! Check out Big Fat Hen.

Sun Busters

Welcome to Sun Busters® by DaRiMi Kidz. We offer the best in sun protection and Australian beach fashion for babies and children from 3 months to 12 years of age. As two mothers, one Australian and one American, with 6 young children between us, we know the importance of protecting your children from the sun with quality products that are long-lasting, chemical free and provide 50+ protection from the harmful UV rays of the sun.

Our Sun Busters collection is the only line of children’s swimwear to carry the prestigious Seal of Recommendation from the Skin Cancer Foundation-and this is something we are quite proud of. We are dedicated to education about sun protection, and we donate a percentage of our profits to organizations working to prevent skin cancer worldwide.

I love UV wear for my kids. We are all pretty fair skinned so sunscreen and UV wear is a must have for us in the Summer. Kristina basically lives in our blow up pool in the summer and Brandon and I chill out on the deck playing with toys. We love being outside and try to be out there for pretty much all day.

Carole and Jennifer from Sun Busters took it upon themselves to create a company focused on protecting kids without sacrificing style! I believe that if you are going to protect your kids from getting sick, and getting hurt so why wouldn't you protect your children from getting skin cancer. We know how to do it and its so easy. Why not put your kids in protective clothing when you are at the pool, beach or even playing in the yard all day. I love the UV shirts for Brandon just for playing on the deck all day.

For review we got long sleeve all in one in size 2/3 in titanium and moss for Brandon and the Short Sleeve Ruched rash guard set in Mocha and Bluebird for Kristina. Kristina loves hers and can't wait to set up the pool and wear it. The sizes were great and they are very high quality. I have seen lots of cheap UV wear coming out in department stores and this is no cheap UV wear. I am confident that it will last.

Sun Busters even sells sun hats and water shoes. Its a one stop shop at Sun Busters. If you are looking for some great sun wear for your kids look no further!

Curly Cue Wall Graphics with Giveaway **Closed**

The idea behind Curly Cue is to make quality wall graphics that the whole family can enjoy. Made for each room in the house, Curly Cue offers one-of-a-kind designs for original flair and pizzazz to brighten up any room. Curly Cue utilizes bright colors along with simplicity to create a unique style for any room. Whether it be the office, dorm or home, Curly Cue designs add a dash of style to fit your individual decorating technique.

I have become a little bit obsessed, like I tend to get with things, about wall art. I love it. You can put it in every room of the house, change it so much easier and faster than even a coat of paint. And its so much more fun. I painted Brandon's room about a year or so ago and wanted it to look really unique and fun. I decided to paint it camo and it looked OK but I couldn't get the camo shapes to look neat and tidy. They were fuzzy on the edges and all sloppy. I settled because I didn't think that there was another option.

Turns out there was a WAY better option! Wall Art! I love it!

Curly Cue sent us some machines and some jungle animals for Brandon's room. I was pretty excited for them to come and couldn't get over their prices, they were awesome. Once I decided what ones I wanted I got to pick the colors and they were on their way. Check it out!

So just the animals and machinery is from Curly Cue, they finish his room off so nicely. We are very happy with them. They applied easily and don't lift off at all. I would definitely order from Curly Cue when I want to change his room up again, because I am like that.
One lucky winner will have $50 to go crazy with at Curly Cue, trust me you can get lots for that!
And even if you don't win you can use coupon code funky for 10% off!

The Pull-Ups Potty Dance

I am sure that I have mentioned before about how we are in the trenches with Brandon and potty training. Its sure a long road and a road that every parent has to go down at some point. Its something that we struggled with with Kristina. She was 3 1/2 before she was fully potty trained. Kris and I weren't together then and he had her trained about 6 months before that. While she was at my house she wouldn't go and when she was at his house she would. It was a frustrating time for all.

Brandon however showed a lot of interest in the potty a lot earlier than Kristina ever did. He was about 18 months old. I knew that while he was interested I had to be on it or when I did finally decide to he wouldn't want to do it anymore. That was the first great thing that I did. From there every time he went on the potty we celebrated. We yelled and danced and hugged and jumped up and down. It made it so that he wanted to to go on the potty so that we could do that. We also have used mini marshmallows and such for rewards for when he goes on the potty. The great thing about the potty dance though is that you have it wherever you are, you never run out and can take it anywhere!

Right now Brandon gets on the potty every time when he naked but as soon as hes in undies or a pull up he just doesn't have enough time to get to the potty and pull down stuff before hes peeing. Even when hes naked the odd time he isn't even fully sitting before he starts to pee. Any advice out there? I assume that it will just take more time for him to get more bladder control. And less juice, hes a juice monster.

Pull ups wants all the Moms out there to know about the Potty dance and what a positive and happy time it can be for them and their children. There’s nothing like a bit of dancing to motivate success and make potty training something that our little ones enjoy and look forward to. You can learn more about it at Pull-ups.com

Check out this great video of mom and actress Jessica Holmes do the potty dance!

Alphabet Rockers with a giveaway **Closed**

It is so hard to find music that your kids like and you can handle listening too. Alphabet Rockers to the rescue. When they offered to send me their newest CD's I was game. I have a couple great CD's for the kids but a big pile of annoying, winey, and babyish ones that only the kids like, or only Brandon. I love when I can find music that both of my kids like and I like. Its a harder task than you would think.

Its a real rock and roll CD with almost a bit of a rap to it. Real rap fans may not agree but it does have that rap sound to it. Kristina's favorite songs are The money song, The new kid in school, and The seven days of the week. While we have been listening to it I kept thinking to myself what a great CD this would be for schools and teachers. When I looked online I saw that Alphabet Rockers had met with a whole bunch of teachers and took all of their opinions in when creating there songs and lyrics.

Alphabet Rockers was created by children's music production company School Time Music in 2007 in San Francisco, CA. Harvard graduate and professional singer Kaitlin McGaw and 4 Non Blondes drummer/author/music teacher Dawn Richardson joined together to create Alphabet Rockers. Their goal was to produce high-quality, cutting-edge music for a shared learning entertainment experience for kids, family, and teachers. The debut self-titled CD, Alphabet Rockers has been applauded nationally by parenting publications, teachers and music critics. With a sound and lyric unlike other kids' music, Alphabet Rockers appeals to preschoolers and early elementary school kids with its high-energy sound and surprises and engages parents by how cool and unconventional the songs are. All songs are written with teacher advisors, so the content is perfect for the classroom - and teachers love the fact that the songs also give them street cred’ with young learners. The live show "Alphabet Rockers" is a high-energy, interactive, educational music and dance show for the whole family.

If you want to check out this CD too then this is a great giveaway for you. Alphabet Rockers has offered up a CD to one lucky winner

Pukies with Giveaway **Closed**

When I first heard of the company Pukies I thought, what in the world kind of name is that? Clearly they make baby products but what? Well its a line of baby clothing and its made with colors to hide the puke your baby will put on them! I love it! Best part of all is that all of their items are made from Soy and organic cotton.

The inspiration for Pukies™ came to Samantha Asay, mother of two, while shopping with girlfriends. Persuaded to try on a ridiculously expensive dress, she noticed it was the same color as her daughter’s green pea baby food. Right then it hit her -- Why are there no children’s lines designed to disguise the mess kids create?

Samantha set out on a quest to find a sustainable fabric that hides the fact that kids wear what they eat! And she did!

Our Soy Genius™ fabric - a special blend of soy fiber and organic cotton – makes Pukies incredibly soft and comfortable, durable, antimicrobial, and provides high UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor).

So, with Pukies you can spend less time worrying about mess and more time enjoying your kids!

The colors and styles are amazing. The clothing goes up to 24 months, is very accurately sized and have accessories as well. They have bibs, burp clothes, and more! We got to try out a t shirt and a burp cloth. They are so soft, I love them. The shirt is a bit small for Brandon, hes in a 2/3 though so that's to be expected. I love touching it though, its so soft!

The names of their clothing is my favorite. They are called ketchup, popsicle, mac n' cheese, cocoa, and more! If you are loving this company here is a great giveaway for you.

Pukies is giving one lucky winner a $25 gift certificate!

Sassy with a great giveaway! **Closed**

Sassy is a name that most have heard of, they make lots of great baby products. That's not all they make though. They have great bath toys for older kids as well, organizers, feeding accessories and of course toys!

Sassy was kind enough to send us some great items free of charge for review. We got a great no scratch bottle brush. We have been looking for one for a while that isn't made of the plastic cheap bristles that just get bent and stop working. Just because your done with bottles doesn't mean you don't need a good bottle brush still. We needed something for Brandon's sippy cups, and even our cups. Its so much easier with a bottle brush than just a dish cloth!

We also got the coolest organizer for Brandon. Its a soft toy box that folds down. I didn't check the size when I picked it and it looked small so I thought it would be good for in the van for Brandon's toys with the lid so it didn't get dirt in it so easily. But it was a really big one. Toy box size. I love it and couldn't be happier. Its soft so kids can't get hurt on it and its really modern looking. Brown and big blue dots on it. Very modern and great to hold all of Brandon's babies and stuffies in. He loves to crawl in it and hide too!

We got some great bath toys from Sassy. We got the scrub a dub car wash, a snap and squirt creatures set, and two pull and go boats. Brandon is in heaven with them. Its hard to find good quality bath toys that are safe for you kids that are reasonably priced and fun. We love our new bath toys from Sassy! The only thing I want now is a bathroom just for the kids so that the toys can take over the tub and won't be in my way when I want a shower away from the kids :)

How many of your toddler car seats are full of cracker crumbs? I hate giving Brandon snacks in the van but sometimes its necessary. He just woke up and we have to go straight to town. Enter snack pods. Great little containers with lids that open enough for some tiny fingers to get into. We got a two pack, one bigger and one smaller. They are perfect for both kids. They each get a little container filled with snacks, enough in each for both of them and way less messy.

Sassy has a great giveaway for you! One lucky (US only) winner will receive the Scrub a dub car wash, a pull and go boat, and the nap and squirt creatures.

Trident layers

I was offered to do a review of the new Trident Layers gum. I jumped on it, we are a gum family. I usually have gum in my purse and always have it in the van. Kristina loves gum the most though and asks for it many times a day.

The new Trident Layers gum sounded so good on TV and I really liked the idea behind it, but I was worried that it would be gross when I read the names. The first one sounded okay, Wild Strawberry and Tangy Citrus, but the other didn't sound very good at all. Green Apple and Golden Pineapple.

I have to say though that the Green Apple and Golden Pineapple is my favorite out of the two. It mostly tastes like Green Apple but not so tart. Its a totally different kind of flavour than I was used to with gum but was delicious! The Wild Strawberry and Tangy Citrus was good too. Very good strawberry flavour with just a hint of citrus. Delicious.

If you haven't tried out the new Trident Layers yet, go get a pack and give it a try! You may be pleasantly surprised!

Beyond the Wall

Beyond the Wall is a new up and coming vinyl lettering company! My experience with Sherri was exceptional. She was very accommodating and very easy to work with, she even dropped my vinyl quote off at my house!

Sherri says that her wall quotes and vinyl wall art in general is addicting and man is it ever. I have lots of wall art now and want so much more! It really makes your home unique. It works in so many places, I have it in my living room, the kids rooms, and now in the bathroom!

Sherri sent me the quote "Live every Moment, Laugh everyday, Love Beyond Words" for my bathroom and I love it. It was pretty simple to put up. It was a little more time consuming than one big piece because each letter is its own piece of vinyl. They are all stuck to one piece of backing so its just the peeling off that is more changeling. You just need to be sure that each letter is stuck before you pull back. It took about 15 minutes all together so all in all, its a lot faster and way more unique than painting!

Beyond the Wall has so many amazing pieces to choose from. They have sections for life, love, home, baby, family, and stick figures. You can even custom make something for you! There prices were very good and shipping is a flat $5 in Canada and free if you order over $75!

Sherri has offered all of my readers 15% off anything they order! Just email her with your order and let her know you heard about it here!

Play and Learn Toys with a giveaway **Closed**

As a stay at home mom of two young kids and having lived in Northern Alberta for almost nine years, I understand the dilemma of having limited shopping options available and relying on Internet shopping or on those few trips a year to the city to make purchases. Birthdays, Christmas, baby showers, christenings and other occasions would come along and I would be in a panic over what I could buy. I wanted gifts that people would really appreciate as well as something that I would feel good about giving.

Play and Learn Toys is geared towards moms like me who would like to purchase quality toys and gifts that are safe to use by those we care about. The products that we offer are well made and very safe to use and because the majority of the toys are mostly wooden products, they can even be considered “green” or “eco-friendly” products.

When we choose our suppliers, we look at their reputation in the industry as a quality and responsible toy producer and what they are doing to ensure that the products offered are safe. A lot of time and effort has been spent on choosing the suppliers in order to offer our customers with the type of product that we say we offer.

Our suppliers have assured and also publicly stated that from the raw materials used to the final touches applied, the products are all monitored closely so that each toy on the market adheres to the proper safety standards and are made from quality materials. These toys and gifts are made of high quality and are built to last. The idea is that they can be passed on so that many generations can enjoy these products for years to come. I would much rather invest in a product that is SAFE for my kids and is WELL MADE.

We received the Cooking Utensils by Plan Toys for Brandon. He loves playing with his kitchen and is really getting into pretend play and making me juice and food to pretend to eat and drink. I have been looking for some cookware for him and this set is great. Just like ours, even with a lid, spatula and serving spoon to match. Its so nice to finally find some cookware that he loves to play with because its so realistic.

Play and Learn Toys has so many other great toys and is Canadian! Everything they have in their store is great for kids and above all is SAFE. They carry so many lines and have very competitive prices. They have lots of hard to find toys, like the Grimms line. I love that line! They are gorgeous pieces that grow with your child. They even look great when they aren't being played with!

Play and Learn Toys has offered up a Breakfast Menu by Plan Toys to one lucky winner! They have also offered everyone 10% off using code funkymom

Kidz Gear with Giveaway **Closed**

Kidz Gear is about delivering a line of products and accessories with adult product features, performance and quality levels, but available at a price-point in-line with products for children. As many parents have, I too have purchased “toy” products for my children: headphones, binoculars, flashlights — only to find they were poorly manufactured, using substandard if not even dangerous components and materials.

Obviously, I was tired of purchasing toys and could not afford to give my children my “adult” versions of these products. I decided there was a need to meet in the middle with high-quality, fully functional and ergonomically designed products that are value-priced and in the sizes and styles kids will love! Thus the birth of Kidz Gear.

When I first showed my husband the wired and wireless headphones from Kidz Gear he said "wheres mine?" They look, feel, and work just like adult ones do but are designed specially for kids. They even come with a child product friendly price point. Wired at only $16.99 and wireless at $29.99!

We borrowed a portable DVD player for our trip to Alberta this last Summer and bought one shortly after. It was a lifesaver. The only annoying part was that we didn't have any good earphones for it so whenever Kristina wanted to watch a movie we had to listen to it and couldn't listen to our own music. These would have been very handy then.

The wired and the wireless both worked great and I think both each serve a great purpose. In the car I would give Brandon the wireless because Kristina would be holding the DVD player and he would just play with and maybe damage the wires. If only Kristina was using the DVD player though I think I would always go for the wireless first.

Kidz Gear has offered up one pair to two lucky winner! Your choice of wireless or wired.

Price Products with Giveaway **Closed**

At Price Products our mission is to provide parents with innovative products that serve a practical purpose. All our products have been invented by parents, for parents. We strive to make products that you won't see anywhere else.

When you do business with us, we want you to feel like you're calling a real person who will take care of your needs because we really do care. All our employees have children of their own, so don't be surprised to hear little voices in the background when you call. We strongly promote family unity and encourage our employees to bring their children to work when needed. After all, those children are our inspiration. It's also nice to have them handy when we are doing children testing or focus groups!

Along with our family feel, we have three United States distribution points, so your order is processed and shipped the day we get it.

We strive to use minimal, ecofriendly packaging as well as manufacture our products in the USA.

We received a few different products from Price Products. We got the dwink box, my plate mate, dripstik, Baby Songbird DVD, and the Baby light and clip. After taking some time to try all of them out, we like them all!

The Dwink box is a hard plastic holder for your child's juice box. Its great to leave in your glove box for picnics out or to have at grandmas when she gives your little one a drink box. I love the Brandon can't squeeze all of the juice out and all over himself and the table now when I give him a juice box.

The My Plate Mate is awesome as well. It attaches to the side of almost any child's sized plate and becomes sort of a wall for them. When they are learning how to scoop up their food it usually gets scooped right off the side of the plate. Not anymore. Now when Brandon's food hits the my plate mate it acts as sort of a knife and allows his to get the food onto his fork or spoon. I have to say that my husband had absolutely no idea what it was sitting in the cupboard until I showed him though.

The Dripstik is going to be used so much this summer. I am a bit of a neat and clean freak. I don't like giving Brandon popsicles or ice cream cones unless I can feed them to him because they drip all over him and make such a mess. Not now with a Dripstik. There are two ends, one for popsicle sticks and the other for ice cream cones etc. This was an ingenious invention and I love that Brandon can have the treats and I don't have as much of the mess.

The Baby Songbird DVD was pretty good. I am not usually one for putting on DVD's for Brandon, we usually just watch whatever is on cartoon wise. When I first put it on for him I thought he might be to old for it because its for 3 months and up. It was very simple and there was not a story to it but he was mesmerised. He stared at the TV without moving for probably 10 minutes. I was surprised. The rest of the DVD he came back and forth but again when he watched it he was mesmerised.

The Baby light and clip is a nail clipper for babies. It has a built in light so that you can see where you are clipping and what part is skin. It seemed a bit small for Brandon but I also wasn't used to using it. The best part, it holds the nail clippings in a little compartment right in it!

Price Products has offered up all of the items I received to two lucky winners. One winner will receive the Baby Songbird DVD and the Baby light clip and the other winner will receive the Dripstik, My plate mate, and the Dwink Box.

Hornet Mountain with Giveaway **Closed**

Hornet Mountain Natural Products (http://www.hornetmountain.com ) is an online store that specializes in chemical-free therapeutic skin care, natural makeup and beautiful eco-clothing in organic cotton and hemp. Founded by Astrid Kihl, a stay-at-home mom and self described "natural health freak", Hornet Mountain began as a response to her search to find a remedy for her toddler's chronic eczema. "I became really intense about my research. I learned so much about natural products during that time". she says: "Just because a product is 'naturally marketed', does not mean the product is natural at all. I discovered that the personal care industry is fraught with deceptive tricks to make the consumer feel comfortable about using toxic chemicals on their skin. I could go on and on about this, but the bottom line is to educate yourself. The Environmental Working Group website ( http://www.ewg.org) is a great place to start.

"We carry Keys skin care products because they use pharmaceutical-grade essential oils in therapeutic proportions. This means that the healing ingredients are of the highest quality and offer the best performance. Every batch of essential oil purchased by the manufacturer is tested to their ultra high standard for the active ingredient , as well as for microbiology, to insure that there is no contamination present (hardly anyone in the industry does this!). The list of ingredients (organic or wild crafted) on every product is under 10. The formulas are based on ancient healing remedies from various sources, like the Lakota Sioux and Ayurvedic medicine, among others."

I got to try the Keys Luminos Maximum Hydrating Moisturizer. I am always a little uneasy about trying a new moisturizer for my face because I have such sensitive skin that likes to have fits like a three year old who is told no if I don't use the right moisturizer. I just put it on and hoped for the best.

When it went on it was very light and went so far, for about a week I kept using to much, you need so little it just didn't seem like enough on my fingers so needless to say its going to last a long time. It moisturized really well and lasted all day. The smell was nice, not to strong but was nice. I wouldn't want to use this in the winter for my skin because I need a really heavy rich moisturizer then but for the average skin type this is great. Its great for me for Spring and Summer too, just not Winter.

Luminos Moisturizer is a Hornet Mountain favourite product. Luminos creates a soft focus illusion radiating from the skin. Developed with Hollywood makeup artists to respond equally to indoor and sunlight, Luminos is a great clear moisturizing foundation for the skin that smooths out the appearance of the skin by defracting light evenly. Keys combines Agave Aloe with an unprocessed filtered Shea butter, avocado, black cumin and carrot seed oils and blends them using ultrasonics to create this uniform, smooth, hydrating moisturizer. The combination of pharmaceutical grade essential oils, the purest Aloe Vera and Shea butter from Ghana in therapeutic proportions makes this a unique product.

Hornet Mountain has offered up a Keys Luminos Maximum Hydrating Moisturizer, 100ml to one winner!
