Kinder joins forces with Monsters University

Did you get a chance to watch Monsters University this Summer?  We didn't but the kids really wanted to see it.  Hopefully its out on video soon.  We had a crazy busy Summer here, super busy but lots of fun. Lots of day trips and lots of memories but that's what its all about!

Have you seen the great new Kinder eggs that are floating around out there?  They are Monsters University eggs!!!  How awesome is that.  Best part is that each and every specialty marked Monsters University Kinder egg contains a Monsters University licenced toy!!  My kids are loving them, and its making them ask for more and more Kinder eggs than ever before. 



Although we don't have any monster fears in our house, thank goodness, I have seen a really cool tool out there for those of you who have kids that struggle with this.  You just take a spray bottle filled with water and a few drops of essential oils.  Fill up the spray bottle and then make a label for it.  You can do something up on the computer or do a scrapbook style or even just use a black marker.  You can label it Monster B Gone, Monster Spray, or what ever other creative name you can come up with :)  Here is the link to pinterest where I found some of these :)

Pink Pink Pink

We are Kinder fanatics in our house!  The kids love them and even I love to munch away on them.  Kinder has always been great with keeping things new and exciting.  The latest and greatest thing that they have come up with is the new Pink Egg!  Now pink eggs are not just for girls.  Boys love them too, including my boy.

I have always been big on trying not to stereotype my kids.  Not just pink and dolls for Kristina and just trucks and blue for Brandon.  This is another great time to talk about how things don't have to be just for girls or just for boys.  Girls love trucks and boys love dolls, mine anyways ;)

Now I am a little late on the ball this month but there is an amazing contest going on over on the Kinder Canada facebook page for a $250 Visa gift card!  How awesome would that be to win?!?!?  Make sure you check it out ASAP as it ends tomorrow :( sorry for the short notice.

Kinder Canada for Easter 2013

I am so excited for making some new memories this Easter.  Last Easter was the end to my marriage, a blessing in disguise, but still a rough holiday.  This year the kids and I are going to create some great new memories and some new traditions.  I don't get them back from their Dads until 1:30 and we are going to walk into the house to a great big egg hunt.  I am pretty excited. 

This is for sure on my to do list!  I have read a few reviews on it and it looks like a lot of fun and easy.  The only hard part is finding Kool-Aid hahaha.  I can't wait to decorate eggs, maybe the house this year, I haven't done that before but get pretty into Christmas so maybe.

The kids of course are most excited about the chocolate!  Why wouldn't they be, its chocolate!  I am stashing Kinder chocolate left right and center in my closet, but don't tell the kids.  I am fighting the urge to chow down and try to save it.  I think my plan is to hide stuff all over the house and the bigger things I will label with a K or a B so they know whos is whos.  I know Kristina is thoughtful and kind enough to leave lots of the little stuff for her brother and not take it all herself.

Barbie and Hot Wheels Kinder Eggs are unveiled

There are some awesome new Kinder Eggs out their.  Have your little ones spotted them yet?  The amazing folks at Kinder came up with Barbie eggs and Hot Wheel eggs!  How do you fit a Hot Wheel into a Kinder egg?  I guess you will have to pick one up to find out ;)  Brandon is as much of a fan of the Barbie eggs as he is of the Hot Wheels ones.  I was surprised at first, but once I figured out why it all made sense.

 

Brandon is a boys boy.  He loves his Mama and is very attached to me but he loves the mud.  He loves going on walks and holding my hand.  He loves Kinder eggs, Hot Wheels and girls.  He loves the kids that go to his daycare, especially the girls.  The girls love him. 

Its official, at almost 5 I have a ladies man on my hands.  Brandon started taking his Barbie Kinder Eggs prizes to school for his little friends.  They loved the prizes but I guess Brandon's attention was even more fought after.  The teacher asked that we not bring anymore prizes to school for his friends as it was becoming to competitive and a bit of a problem for the teachers. 

I shouldn't have allowed it at all looking back, of course someone always ends up sad and left out, and that's not ok.  But I didn't think it would be such a big problem.  The toys were just going into the girls cubbies for when they went home.  Some days though when I show up to pick up Brandon or just to drop him off I can't believe the attention hes getting from the girls.  They are all crowded around him, asking for hugs and stories.  Its not the boys at all either, just the girls and he sure loves them back.

Joy to Share with the Children's Miracle Network

If you have been checking in around Facebook lately I would think you would have seen the hundreds of Kinder Eggs that are being given away everyday!  I really hope that if you weren't before you are now following Kinder Canada on Facebook!  750 every single weekday until December 7th so the next day is Monday December 3rd to Friday December 7th.  That's 5 chances to win a free package of the Kinder mini eggs which contain a delicious milky hazelnut centre!  I have tried them and oh my they are so delish!!

Have you watched the Martin Family story on the Kinder Canada Facebook page? Please "share" it with your friends and family to help encourage donations to the Children's Miracle Network. For every share of the video, Kinder will donate $1 to the Children’s Miracle Network, up to $5,000. There are so many great stories to be read, read them all but make sure to read and share the Martin Family story for the donation :)
Sharing and giving is something that we try to instill in our kids all year long although it seems to come out a lot more during the Holidays.  Kristina is almost at the age where I could take her to a soup kitchen kind of place to do some volunteering this year.  I don't know how we are going to fit it in with how much I am working now but I would really like to get her out there.  We talk lots about giving and how its more important to give and how much better it feels but really getting out there just makes that conversation go that much farther!

While you are on the Kinder Facebook page you can even just read the comments people are leaving about what a great program the Children's Miracle Network is and how it has affected them and their families.  It really does touch so many people and we can help, all of us can!

Kinder Canada has released some great new toys

Well I am so excited to announce that I am back on board with Kinder Canada and Mom Central to bring you the latest and greatest from Kinder for the next 6 months.  I have to tell you though my kids are even more excited.  We are lucky enough to get a nice big package of Kinder eggs every month so the kids go a little Kinder crazy.  I could possibly be known as the Kinder Mom! 

We had Kristina's birthday party yesterday and I gave out Kinder eggs to the kids, right after I gave them enough sugar for the week.  Lots of cupcakes and chips but the Kinder eggs to the cake so to speak.  They were thrilled.  For some of the girls it was all about the chocolate and some all about the toy but there wasn't one who passed on ripping it open right away.

Brandon is pretty excited to take some to school for his Halloween party in a bit as well.  Gotta spread the Kinder love :)  I don't think there is even an age when you outgrow Kinder eggs.  I know I love the milky chocolate and am happy to eat it all up and pass the toy off to the kids.

With a new year coming Kinder is ahead of the game in releasing there great new toys for 2013 and they are awesome.  There are some with soft tummies, there are some cool new dinosaurs, bouncing monsters and of course some cool cars.  You will have to pick one up next time you are out and check them out, your kids will thanks you :)

Kinder Canada - A Joy to Share Campaign

We love our Kinder eggs, Brandon had one tonight after dinner.  You can share the joy with one child by buying them a Kinder egg or you can share with job with many kids who need it more than ever by buying a Kinder Maxi egg.  I just saw the commercial.  I also picked up 7 of these Kinder Maxi eggs that are stashed in my 5th wheel ready to go for Easter weekend.  I am pretty excited to see the look on the faces of my kids and my nieces and nephews!

What would be even better though is the looks on the faces of the kids that the Miracle Network is helping.  There is always someone out there who needs something more than you, or someone who is in a worse position than you!  I always try, even though its hard, to try not to get down on myself when things are hard.  Someone else is always worse off and you just need to take the positives as they come and pass on the love. 

We are so thankful to have healthy kids throughout our family.  There are no big issues, health issues or anything that keeps us up at night.  For that I am truly thankful.  I have heard a lot of heart wrenching stories and am a big believer that if there is only one person you can help, make it a child!!

Kinder Canada has made a donation to The Miracle Network and you can read all about the Miracle Kids they are helping here.  The ‘A Joy to Share’ campaign is the KINDER® way of bringing joy to families – especially those in need by partnering with the Children’s Miracle network.  As families coming together this holiday it’s a chance to reflect and teach your loved ones about what it means to help others. This isn’t just a donation – but a call to action for Canadian moms and children to help us support those less fortunate this joyful season.

Kinder Canada - Facebook Giveaway - $500 towards a staycation!

Spring Break is coming up faster than you know!  I am pretty excited because this year is the first year that our Spring Break will be two weeks long!  We have some pretty big plans this year!  We bought a 5th wheel last year, from Kris's grandparents, near the end of Summer.  We were only able to take it out once on our own after we bought it, we took it out two other times but will the rest of the family before we bought it. 

This year we want to use it as much as possible.  With me working nights and weekends all the time I am hoping to save up and use all of my vacation days this Summer :)  We started a tradition last year that we hope to continue until the kids are grown.  Kris actually did this growing up.  We are going to camp, over Easter, every year, with Kris's three sisters and their families!  Last year was so much fun, it only rained a little bit on the last day, and I can't wait to do it again.  Its the kick off of camping season!  Last year there was 7 adults and 8 kids :)  Gotta love it!

I am already known as the Kinder Aunty, the kids love coming over and getting Kinder eggs, I even game them to Brandon's cousins as part of the goodie bags from his birthday.  They sure love me :)

Easter is pretty much bang in the middle of our Spring break so we should have lots of time to prep and pack up, I love making a good list, and lots of time to relax and recover afterwords!  Can't wait!  Brandon is already asking how many more sleeps until camping!

Kinder Surprise - My Kinder Moments - You can WIN $500

Have you seen the new app on the Kinder Canada facebook page called My Kinder Moments?  Its very easy to use and a lot of fun!  My Kinder Moments take your special moments that you photographed of your kids and turns them into Kinder Moments.

You can choose from some pretty cute frames, some are for more obvious themes, Halloween, First tooth etc and some are more general.  They are all really cute and so easy to use.  The best part is that for every one you create you are entered to win the monthly prize, this months prize is $500 to spend on a new Fall wardrobe for your little one! 

All you do is allow the app access to your facebook page, then you choose your frame, that's the hard part.  You upload your picture, either directly from your computer or your facebook pictures and then you are done.  Send it to a printing company or show it off on your facebook page.

I loved this one and now Brandon has a cute picture to remind him of the day we went to the pumpkin farm picking pumpkins with his cousin!  It was so much fun, we fed the chickens, goats and of course got to walk the spooky barn and pick pumpkins!  We went last year as well and he totally remembered it!  We love them and will be going back year after year.
