Scentsy for Mothers Day with Giveaway **Closed**

I have reviewed Scentsy here before and am a big fan. Scentsy is sold by consultants and I have a local one, a friend, who I am waiting to put in an order with for some more bars. But lets start at the beginning.

Inspired by an Oprah episode on “Millionaire Moms,” stay-at-home mom Kara Egan was seized with the urge to start a business of her own.Then, over lunch one day, her sister-in-law Colette Gunnell mentioned this funny thing her neighbor did, breaking scented candles into pieces and melting them in an old potpourri warmer.

Something clicked for Kara. “I heard the words in my mind saying Kara, this is it.” She called Colette that same night and asked, “Why don’t we start a business together selling candle chunks in a warmer?” In July 2003 Scentsy was born. “We actually poured our first set of bars in an ice cube tray,” remembers Colette. “The scent was Red Delicious. I still have some of the original cubes we made.”

Scentsy moved up to Canada only about a year ago and is taking off fast. Basically it is a big warmer that plugs into the wall instead of being a lit candle. Its much safer because if your kids knock it over its not going to start a fire, its just going to spill some wax. You can get the wax bars in almost any scent you can imagine, and you just place it on top of the warmer and it melts and fills your home with the amazing scent.


This would make a great gift for any mom for Mothers Day. I know that any mom would be thrilled to have a safer alternative to candles that makes her home smell amazing, I know I do. It even makes my house smell so much nicer when its not even on!



I got to try one of the new Spring warmers, the Cherry Blossom and three scent bars. I got the go-go-gogi, Mediterranean Spa, and the Mayflower. So far the go-go-gogi is my favourite but like I said I have so many more that I am going to be ordering, you can change the scent everyday. I actually just changed the scent in mine and all I did was fully melt it all, turn the warmer off for about 5 minutes and then pour the wax back into its container. Once the last of it had cooled, about another 5 minutes I peeled it off of the bottom and put it back in the container as well. You can keep reusing it until it runs out of scent. It takes a long time too, about 40-80 hours!

I love finding soft and cuddly toys for Brandon, he loves to cuddle things and carry them around so when I can find natural and safe ones I am very happy.

The shower gel was amazing, its so nice to use something just for me in the shower and be able to enjoy it and not be rushed with the kids. It is lasting a really long time which is nice too because then I can enjoy it for a long time. You only need a really little bit onto a sponge or your hands to do your entire body because its not all watered down like other companies do.

The chapsticks are great, Brandon has actually been using the Vanilla one today lots because he is sick and getting a bit dehydrated so his lips are going all chapped. He loves lip balm, especially this stuff! Kristina is always asking for it too. I love that I also got a candle for me. It has a nice light lavender and geranium scent to it and its so nice to light and just have going when the kids are in bed.

I have to say that Lisa was awesome to work with, really knows all of her products and truly stands behind them all!

I love reviewing products and company's that are close to home! Only a few hours away and some amazing clothing! They make from size newborn to size 8. We got to try the octopus shirt for Brandon in a 4 and its just a touch big but he can wear it, so I would say that its sized a bit small. When I read there catch phrase "The Finest Crib Sheets in the World" I thought it was just a catch phrase but I can see that they really are the finest in the world, and by far! I was blown away when I opened up my package from SMQ Organics and before I even touched the crib sheet I could see how thick and soft and cozy it would be. We got a Zorro cape and mask for Brandon and its adorable. Its hard to find good quality dress up stuff. You can just get cheap Halloween costumes but they don't hold up to daily play all year long. Some dress up stuff can be worn for years if you get good quality stuff. This was definitely good quality. It was made with nice fabric and sewn with great attention to detail. There are no crunchy pieces, its all nice and soft, nothing to rub and be annoying on it. Sounds silly but that can be a real drag when you get something like this and then its so uncomfortable they never want to wear it.

5 lil monkeys with a giveaway **Closed**

As two working moms, we missed having enough quality time with our children. We decided to take a leap of faith and open up our own business from home. Having 5 "monkeys" amongst us we knew how difficult it was to find high quality, affordable shoes. So, we decided to start off by offering a variety of shoes for both boys and girls. Our goal is to eventually carry other merchandising such as children's accessories and clothing. My most loved addiction is to shoes. Surprisingly though its not shoes for me, its shoes for my kids. There are so amazing shoes out there for kids. I have always believed that kids need really good shoes for their growing little tootsies and have very very rarely purchase used shoes for my kids. Every child's feet grow differently and need to be supported differently. When you use used shoes they are already formed to the last child's foot and it may not be good for your child. I also don't wear cheap shoes myself or for my kids. I believe that you are getting what you pay for. Its so worth it to me to spend my money on good quality where it counts. If I have to I will get a cheap no name ugly tee and pants and spend the money on shoes. They are in them everyday, all day.

5 lil monkeys carry's some of my favorite brands of kids shoes and a few more that were new to me. I really like that you can one shop stop here and grab different brands for your kids and only pay one shipping charge, which is very reasonable. I love that I can grab Brandon and Kristina both summer sandals and get them shoes for fall at the same time, and they can be all different brands. Some of the brands they carry are Pediped, Rileyroos, See Kai Run, and Wee Squeak. They even carry Kalencom diaper bags! I have tried out one of them, and they are amazing!

We received the Adrian by Pediped in orange and blue for Brandon. They are so cute and well functioning. They are machine washable! How awesome is that! I don't know how many times I have thrown shoes in the washer and they have come out ruined! They are adorable and Brandon loves them, with a nice wide single velcro strap they are even easy for him to put on and take off. They are great for all year round, they are nice and breathable, light weight but would be warm enough for Winter, other than snow of course, especially in BC!

I think its time for a coupon organizer

I love coupons! I have a little bill holder that I carry them all around in but they are far from organized in it and I often forget to use a coupon before its expiration date and then its just like throwing money in the garbage in my opinion. I can't stand when that happens. I have been looking for a new coupon organizer for some time but nothing has really stood out and grabbed me yet.

A coupon organizer will keep your coupons in order of expiry, or by brand, or by product type, toilet paper, meat, etc. You can make your own or buy one and then can make it your own by changing it to suit how you need it to work best for you. You can use it for coupons you have cut out from the paper or coupons you have found online! I love online coupons because there are so many of them out their and they are all free, you just have to find them!

Here are few I just found now! There is a coupon for the Veggie Tales Store and the Children's Place, who doesn't love that store! Even Lush has a coupon code! I love Lush!! What do you do with your coupons? Do you use coupons? Did Canadians know that you can double your coupons at London Drugs! Its amazing to go in their with a stack of coupons and save oodles of $!! Kristina hair was really easy to do. I just clipped sections up and started with the hair underneath. It looked great at the end. So different when her hair is curly than when its flat ironed.
