Kid Bean with a great giveaway **Closed**

KidBean.com began in 1999 while founder Melissa Zenz was pregnant with her first child. As a vegetarian, passionate environmentalist and social activist, Melissa grew increasingly frustrated with the distinct absence in the marketplace of maternity and baby products that were earth-friendly, labor-friendly, and vegan. Products that were "vegan" were often made with plastic and questionable or unfair labor. "Earth-friendly" products were not necessarily vegan and also may have been made with unfair labor. "Labor-friendly" products were not necessarily vegan or earth-friendly. With a great deal of research she did find products here and there that met her criteria, but recognized the impracticability of consumers spending as much time on research as she did and then purchasing from so many different stores.


Here is how picky they are when deciding on what products and brands to bring onto their site! I love it!!!

Our new product review process includes in-depth research into the product and its manufacturer to ensure a suitable match with our Standards, including those for fair labor, environmental sustainability, veganism, and safety.

Over the years, we've earned a reputation as being a bit...well, a bit strict in our review process. We're quite proud of this reputation and will continue to be "strict" because it is in the best interest of our customers, their children, the planet we all share and all its inhabitants. (My mother always said I was difficult!)

If a product/company does not meet our Standards at first contact, we offer to assist them in implementing changes that will make the product/company more labor-friendly, earth-friendly, vegan-friendly, and/or safe. Sometimes our offer of assistance is accepted, sometimes it is not so welcome. Ideally, products will not be listed on this page for long--we would be most pleased to be able to move them from this page to our online store, because it would mean sufficient improvements have been made so that the product meets all our standards.

Melissa has done absolutely everything to do with running her shop but finally got to take a little break in 2008. Shes back at it and with over 750 products you are sure to find anything and everything that you are looking for and even those things you weren't looking for until you saw them.




We got to try out some gorgeous organic pajamas for both kids. I love that they have matching pajamas. We got the Garden Kids organics cotton pajamas in Cocoa Striped with Sky Blue Trim. They are great for girls or boys and they are adorable. The kids love to wear them at the same time and be matching. I love that they are organic and are sleeping in only the best.


We also got a pair of Kidbean organic cotton boys underwear. They are so cute and so soft. I only want the best on my boy and it starts underneath his clothes with great underwear. These are definitely my favorite pair for him.
