Little Ruler with Giveaway **Closed**

Little Ruler has some of the coolest clothes for boys! They go up from 3-6 months to size 10! I love everything in this store. They have the coolest hoodies, running shoes, tee shirts and more just like Daddy wears. They carry brands like DC, Hurley, Roxy, Reef, Volcom, and Quicksilver. I have spent tons of time just looking through all of the great stuff on their site. They even have a big clearance section to save you money!

Little Ruler was started in September 2004 by ‘80s skateboard legend Jeff Kendall and his wife Maureen. They have two boys, 5 and 3 who they just couldn't find "cool" clothes for. Luckily, with Jeff’s senior marketing position with NHS, a Northern California skateboard, snowboard and surfboard manufacturer, he was able to custom-print some one-pieces and junior t-shirts with cool brand logos. Maureen recalls, “When our kids wore this stuff, the reactions from people made us realize that skaters and skate fans of our generation may have become parents, but they haven’t lost their passion. So we founded Little Ruler to share that passion with the little ones in their lives.”

Not that Little Ruler appeals solely to skaters and skate enthusiasts. The San Jose Mercury News crowned the brand its “Find of the Week,” its punk styles have graced the pages of parenting and entertainment magazines, and “Access Hollywood” spotlighted its rising popularity among the celebrity mom set. For dressing her kids Maddox and Zahara, Little Ruler is Angelina Jolie’s “favorite fashion line,” and new moms Britney Spears, Jennifer Garner and Gwen Stefani, as well as new dad Jason Lee, have also embraced the brand for its “edgy style with attitude.”

If you have boys yourself or just around you in your life you NEED to check out this amazing store! We got to try out a few Independent tee shirts and we love them. I would recommend going a size bigger. We got the tees in a size 3 and they fit Brandon great and hes usually a size 2. They also look great a bit big in my opinion because they are skateboard clothes! Punk rocker and fun!

Little Ruler has generously offered my readers a chance to win a Independent Komrade tee shirt!

Midwest Monkeys with giveaway **Closed**

Do you have a child under 4 in your life? Did you know that if they can choke on food bigger than a half an inch. Do you know exactly how big that is? I thought I did, but I guess I didn't exactly.

Midwest Monkeys want to make sure the children in your life are safe. They have created a toddler plate with a 1/2" ring molded into it. Basically you cut up your child's food and if it can fit in the ring, in all directions, so not poking out one side, then its safe for your toddler to eat. Of course you always need to supervise your children while they are eating and make sure they are sitting but this is a huge help.

This is a great plate to have at daycare, grandmas or to take with you when you go out for dinner. You can get them in all sorts of designs that your toddler will love. Be sure to check them out and be safe!

Midwest Monkeys has generously offered my readers a giveaway! One winner will receive a set of three plates from the nature or the animal series. They are also giving everyone a discount code for 20% off (not including shipping) Use code FAFM

Stonz

I was already starting to dread getting Brandon some winter boots this year. I can't stand getting toddler winter boots. They need them if they walk outside but they can't seem to walk in them. They come up to high and they are too thick in the soles and not very flexible, if at all. Its also hard to find something to keep your not yet walkers feet and ankles cold. Socks and slippers sometimes just don't cut it. Toddlers, babies and their parents are on the same page when it comes to winter boots. In steps Lisa, creator or Stonz.

Lisa’s favourite quote is “There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing”.

As an active mom based on Canada’s wet and rugged West Coast, Lisa discovered that finding warm footwear for her young kids was near impossible. With her five-month old son in a backpack, Lisa resorted to wrapping scarves around her son’s legs to keep him warm. When she met another mom with a boot that look a lot like a fleece-lined chalk bag (which was made-by-hand for her child), Lisa instantly knew that these booties could fill a need in the market. Together, they created some samples and attended their first trade show in 2004.

While the original booties were created out of necessity, the company has grown out of a passion for the products’ ability to help parents connect with their kids in the great outdoors. With Lisa leading a growing team and closely involved in production at their head office in Vancouver, BC, the company continues to flourish into one of the dominant manufacturers of versatile children’s outdoor gear.
Stonz has the best winter boots around. They are warm, soft, sized generously, and to top it off, adorable!

We got to try out the Digger boot in Olive. I choose a size large which is 1-2 1/2 years and they are sized great! Even a bit generously. We may even get two winters out of these and Brandon is 19 months right now. The boots have a rubberized very flexible, like you can easily fold it in half, gripper sole. And they are lined with some very very soft fleece. These will be some very warm boots. They have a toggle for around the ankle and another one at the calf and can be worn with bare feet, socks, slippers or shoes depending on your baby/child and what they are most comfortable in and how cold out it is.
Stonz also sells liners for their boots if you want them, mitts and hats. Be sure to check them out for winter!

My Lip Stuff with Giveaway **Closed**

My Lip Stuff has over 500 flavours of natural lip balm. Wow! This is a lip balm lovers store! My Lip Stuff lip balm is the perfect blend of butters, oils, and beeswax to moisturize dry lips! Add to that the fact that our company is earth and animal friendly- and you have yourself the perfect lip balm! Over 500 flavors currently available and new flavors added all the time. Special request flavor orders also available. We offer tons of different label choices in different themes-- so there is surely something for everyone. We do offer personalized lip balm, custom label lip balm, private label lip balm, and promotional lip balm too!

The story:

My Lip Stuff began many years ago, back in 1999 as a hobby. My name is Brea, I'm the creator of My Lip Stuff (feel free to call me the lip balm goddess, lippy lord, or your royal Breaness works too). I decided to make my own lip balms after watching an episode of Martha Stewart about hand made lotions and toiletries. Being a Vegan, I knew 'natural' was the product for me, so I began to research natural butters and oils to find the perfect ingredients for the perfect lip balm. After many many many many many (did I say many?) recipes, I finally came up with a recipe that I fell in love with and "My Lip Stuff" was born. It started with just personal use (a lip balm addict from birth with a nasty tube a week (at least) habit), and eventually moved onto Birthday and Christmas gifts. By 2000, friends and family were loving "My Lip Stuff" and it was turning into a mini word of mouth business.

In 2001, I was in the beginning of a very difficult 'bed rest only' pregnancy and was unable to work (I was formerly a foreign and english languages teacher). As I lay there, I thought about developing My Lip Stuff into more than just a small business with only lip products, and into a full fledged business with many different bath and body products. In June of 2001, the unexpected happened, and I became VERY ill. The doctors had no choice but to deliver the baby by emergency c-section. So after only 5 months of pregnancy, I gave birth to a 1 pound 1 ounce premature little boy. 4 long months in the hospital by my sons side gave me A LOT of time to develop My Lip Stuff into My Lip Stuff & Other Stuff! I quickly realized that life would never be the same, and that working a "normal" 9-5 job like most people do, would be impossible for this single parent with a special needs child. My Lip Stuff needed to be developed into a fully functional business and online store to support myself and my disabled child, so the My Lip Stuff & Other Stuff online store was officially open for business!

Fast forward another 8+ years and I am still a single parent, working around the clock (seriously, who needs sleep!) to bring you My Lip Stuff and Other Stuff. I also find the time to homeschool my Autistic/special needs child who is now 8 years old (and who is also addicted to My Lip Stuff!). My Lip Stuff continues to be a thriving online store, with a 1000 sq ft "factory" where the magic happens! Our mission is still the same: to create products that are skin, earth, and animal friendly. We stuck to our roots and still handmake all our products in very small batches to ensure freshness. The end result is plain and simple- My Lip Stuff is serious lip care with a fun flair, for the kid (albeit the responsible kid) in all of us.

We got to try out a handful of the lip balms. They have every flavour you can think of. Kristina and I loved them. They are a nice soft, smooth balm. Not at all waxy or greasy. I gave a few to some friends and they were eagar to try them. They thought the same, very smooth and creamy. Sarah mentioned that it was a great balm for winter when you are really dry and needing a very moisturizing balm. Also great for skiing or doing any winter sports to keep your lips moist.

My Lip Stuff has generously offered my readers a chance to win their very own 6 pack of random flavors.

Cute Bug Apparel

Do you ever feel like your kids must have a hundred legs because they are pulling you in all directions? Do they ever talk so much that they have your head spinning? Do they pull so many toys out of the toy box at once that you think it’s easier to move than clean it up?

But don’t you think that they are the most adorable, cutest little creatures you ever saw?
Kids should have the best time as a kid. We should revel in their curiosity, the magic of their imagination, their unlimited creativeness and the power of finding fun in just about anything they do.

Cute Bug Apparel has adorable logo’d clothing for your kids to wear while they explore their adventures. Choose your favorite logo(s) that best suits your little bug. We take pride that they are Made in Canada with the comfort of your cute little one in mind.
We got to try out the monkey in the middle tee in 24 months. Its adorable. I love calling Brandon a monkey so its a good fit for him! It comes in a cream color and isn't too busy so it matches all of Brandon pants. Its also a large fit, you could even go down a size although I think that bigger is always better as with a short sleeved tee you can especially get away with bigger. This is a great quality, made in Canada, tee that I love. You should check them out.

They carry a few different designs of tee shirts, onsies and bibs. They also carry baby on board signs and shopping cart covers. Everything is great prices and something that I would definitely purchase in the future. They even have group sets, buy 3 onsies or tee shirts or 7 bibs and save! Right now they go up to 24 months but she is considering going up to a 6x in the future so keep her in mind.
Here's my favorite thing about Cute Bug Apparel - Cute Bug Apparel believes that all kids should have a fighting chance for a great childhood. Therefore a 50 cent donation from every item that you buy from Cute Bug Apparel will go to The BC Children’s Hospital. You can take great pride that your purchase will put a smile on the face of your child and at least one other child.

If you make a purchase from Cute Bug Apparel not only will they donate the 50 cents to BC Children's Hospital, they will also give you a free baby on board car decal with your purchase. Just let them know you read about them here.

Southern Brand

If there was a store that I would literally want one of everything Southern Brand is it. They have stuff for everyone, including, lil ones, southern belle and southern man. They even have some awesome cowhide slip covers for ipods, iphones and the itouch and cowhide koozies for your beer or pop can. How fun is that? This is definitely my kind of store!

Southernbrand is a down-home, dixie-fried, southern guide to good livin’. Food, music, film, books, travelin’ and just good ol’ southern culture and Americana. It’s life through amber-tinted glasses. The sweet, smokey taste of some real pit BBQ. The steely sound of a beer-bottle slide. The rumble of an old pick-up truck down a muddy, dirt road. It’s sittin’ on the front porch sippin’ ice & bourbon, spittin’ watermelon seeds and pickin’ the blues. But it’s more about where your head’s at than where your feet are at. So come on by, take a load off, and sit a spell. We aim to turn ya on to all the interestin’ things we’ve come across.

We got to try out a "Riff Raff" tee in XL for my hubby. I love that you can get matching ones in some of their styles for mom and child or daddy and child. And the quality was great, it was a nice thin cotton and so soft you would think it was organic. It is black and has held up great being washed over and over. I will definitely being heading back for more!

Southern Brand has offered us a discount code. Use code BELLE to get 10% off your order.

Snugfits with Giveaway **Closed**

Here's a bit of how Snugfits came to be.

After the birth of my first son, I started searching for some cool baby onesies and tees. I was disappointed to find the selections were limited and the quality not up to my expectations. I'd find the message I was looking for, but the design was awful. Poor font choices, improper kerning and just plain sloppy execution is what I was running into. I also wasn't seeing the color options I had envisioned. So, what is a mom to do? I decided to go back to my roots and make my own!

Incorporating my eye for detail, mother's wit, taste for clean design and the "Helvetica Mentality" passed on by my father, I created a line that makes me proud. After testing the market locally - selling at home town festivals and bazaars - I knew I was ready to open my own online boutique. Luckily, with my background, I knew just how to do that! I designed my website from scratch, did my own photography (using my son and niece as models) and wrote my own policies. My tees are a labor of love from conception to creation. With the help of my crew (aka husband, Brett), our business is hands on from our shop to your home. I hope that you and yours enjoy wearing them as much as I enjoy making them.

Who isn't into helping out and supporting another mom? I love buying from moms and dads who are doing it on their own. It makes me feel good every time I put Brandon in something made by a mom or dad, and their business. Nothing like putting food one someone else's table instead of into a big corporation.

Snugfits creates some awesome shirts and onsies. They have all sorts of styles from girly, to rock and roll, political to cultural. There is something for anyone.

The quality is amazing. I got a black long sleeved tee that says "rebel." I love it. I got the size 18-24 months and it fits him great at 19 months. I would go a size bigger just so it fits longer. It washes great, being black, its been washed a handful of times and hasn't faded at all like so many others do. This is a shirt that I love taking Brandon out in as we get so many smiles and chuckles.

If you are looking for a fun shirt or onsie for a gift or your little one be sure to check out Snugfits!

Snugfits has generously offered one of my readers their choice of a tee or onsie.

The Boy's Store with Giveaway **Closed**

If you have boys you know how frustrating it can be shopping for them. I can't stand going into stores and seeing racks and racks of girls clothing but not a lot for boys. I do understand that girls just have more options with dresses and skirts and capris etc but it still doesn't seem fair. The idea for this store came from moms just like you and I. You really can make a difference by letting it be known what it is you want.

The concept for The Boy’s Store developed by itself; when researching the clothing and retail industry with the goal of opening a children’s clothing store a pattern started to form. As the founders talked to friends and family about the idea; they kept hearing the same comment again and again. Please have a big boys section. It became quite obvious that the store should focus only on boys and create the ultimate place to find all sorts of looks and styles just for boys. Thus, The Boy’s Store was born.

The Boy's Store carries so many brands. Some include Appaman, Hatley, Kenneth Cole, Taggies, and Vincent Shoes to name a few. I loved looking through their site at all of the great boys clothes. There was no getting side tracked with all the cute girl clothes, there was just tons of cute, adorable, and handsome boys clothes. I was in heaven!

We got to try out the Appaman logo long sleeved football shirt. I love this shirt. Its a great size, very accurate if not a bit generous. Its nice and simple so its easy to match up with all of Brandon's bottoms. This shirt will definitely get worn a lot this fall, its awesome!

Check them out on Facebook and Twitter!

If you have boys do I have the giveaway for you! The Boy's Store has offered one of my readers a $25 gift code to do some shopping for themselves (well their boys)

Little Luvee with Giveaway **Closed**

Little Luvee was born in 2007, inspired by the littlest members of our family who cherished their soft little blankets, which they called their “luvees”. Rather than try to keep track of their favorite one, we decided to keep one in the car, one in the crib, and some extras in the closet (clean and ready). As our little princesses have grown, so have our blankets.

Our family-sponsored business thrives on word-of-mouth marketing and return clientele. Due to the demand for high quality, ultra soft, and individually designed blankets and burp cloths, we’ve increased production and now offer our products online.

Little Luvees are great gifts for expecting and new parents. We carefully match the pattern of fabric and trim that you choose for your blanket and pair it with 3 burp cloths in complimentary patterns or colors. Each set (or individual blanket) is thoughtfully designed, carefully sewn, beautifully arranged and packaged for you.

Every Little Luvee is machine washable and dryer safe. Our products are soft enough for the most sensitive skin, yet rugged enough to withstand the great outdoors! All of our products are made from the finest quality fabrics, pre-washed and guaranteed to bring you and your loved ones years of comfort and joy.

We got to try out some of Little Luvees burp clothes. They came so nicely wrapped up, perfect for gift giving. The fabric, I can't even explain to you how soft it is and the prints, well, I love them. They are so modern and funky and fun. Anyone would love to receive these as a gift and who wouldn't buy these for themselves. I definitely want one for Brandon to snuggle up with.

Another great thing that I love about Little Luvee is how well coordinated everything is. You know how the older child is sometimes left out at baby showers or when baby comes home from the hospital? Now you can get the baby a blanket or burp clothes and then get the older sibling a blanket too, or even dad :)

Little Luvee has generously offered my readers the chance to win their very own set of burp clothes!

Go to Little Luvee and tell me which set you would like if you won. Its definitely hard to choose but I am sure you will manage.

Free E Cards

I love Birthdays and pretty much all holidays! I am not a big fan of having to spend more than a dollar on a card. I love the idea of a card and know that some people like to save them, I did for my kids birth and their first birthdays but otherwise I don't. What I really love is a homemade, thoughtful card. You know the ones that your niece colored for you and wrote on all by herself? Those cards are priceless. You can get some great printable cards from free e cards.

Also with this busy lifestyle that so many people are leading now a days, how many holidays or birthdays have snuck up on you. I know my mother in laws birthday snuck up on me this year. I love that you can send someone a cute e card, maybe have it singing or dancing through the Internet. Its sent immediately so hopefully you aren't as late with the well wishes.

Green Bottle

Recent studies have shown some potential health risks involving the use of BPA in plastic water bottles. We all like to drink water to stay healthy and Green Bottle™ offers a safe and environmentally friendly way to get what your body needs - fresh clean water all day long.

In the US, we dispose of nearly 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour. That’s over 21.9 billion plastic bottles every year. By carrying and refilling one reusable Green Bottle™, you help reduce that number significantly. Using Green Bottles™ we can eventually eliminate the reliance on plastic water bottles all together.
Green Bottle™ also donates proceeds to 1% for the Planet which funds nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping sustain our planet.

Do you like to save money? Do you like drinking water? Do your kids? Do you want a cuter or cooler water bottle to use? Green Bottle has the answer. They have some super fun bottles to choose from on their site. Every Green Bottle is made of 18/8, food grade stainless steel and is completely BPA Free! I got to try a 25 oz Forrest bottle and a 20 oz Peace in Blossoms. Both bottles came with two lids. They have sports caps, and screw on caps. I love that you can not only buy replacement caps but they have different kinds. I also loved that they have a wide mouth so that you can add ice cubes or if you are having a smoothie its so much easier to pour in.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced stainless steel bottle for you, your kids or both check out The Green Bottle!

Naturepedic with Giveaway **Closed**

Why Naturepedic?

Simple. The health and safety of your child should not be negotiable. Naturepedic products eliminate hazardous chemicals found in conventional mattresses while offering a more natural and non-toxic alternative for parents. In addition, Naturepedic does not sacrifice critical features and benefits such as waterproofing and a hypoallergenic design. With so many “organic/natural/eco”, options available (cotton batting, soybean foam, coconut husks, natural latex/rubber, wool, etc.), it can be difficult to differentiate among the various offerings.

Naturepedic was founded by a quarter century environmental engineer familiar with hazardous chemicals. Through in-depth research, Naturepedic has identified and selected the most natural and non-toxic materials that make sense on a practical level.

All Naturepedic products follow these principles and priorities: Priority #1: No harmful chemicals. Priority #2: No allergenic materials. Priority #3: Practical design (e.g. easy-to-clean waterproof cover). Priority #4: Natural, organic and renewable materials wherever possible. Priority #5:

Third party independent testing and verification. Naturepedic backs up its product development with scientific data. In particular, Naturepedic products are regularly tested for chemical emissions and are certified by GREENGUARD® to meet their strict standards for children. Naturepedic understands the harm that can come from toxic chemicals and allergenic materials and is dedicated to the continual development of innovative high quality products that eliminate these risks. Naturepedic carries the most awards and endorsements of any children’s mattress company, as well as the best warranty in the industry.

I got to try out the waterproof Organic Mattress Protector Pad and I love it! Here are some of the benefits!

- Two Layers of Organic Cotton Flannel - Top and Bottom

- Highly Absorptive and Extra Soft

- Reduces Uneven Temperatures, Sweating, and Clamminess

- Ultra-Thin Waterproof Membrane In Center - Waterproof Version Only Features DrySleep™ technology, which effectively blocks liquids from passing through while still allowing the fabric to “breathe.” Some water vapor is allowed to escape resulting in less “sweaty backs” and a drier, more comfortable sleep. Provides a soft, non-sweaty and comfortable waterproof barrier (as compared to vinyl and rubber). Also blocks dust-mites and other allergens.

This is a very soft and thick mattress pad. I used to have a vinyl one and I hated it. You know when you take it out of the package and the smell of the vinyl just hits you? I hate that, what does that do to your kids? I love that I can have a cozy mattress protector on the bed and that its waterproof.

Do you want one for your crib? Naturepedic has generously offered my readers a chance to win their very own organic cotton crib sized mattress protector!

To enter:

Go to Naturepedic and tell me what your favorite product is that they carry other than the mattress pad

Norwex with Deja and a Giveaway **Closed**

Have you ever heard of Norwex? They have some of the best cleaning products out there. Norwex is a Norwegian company started in 1994 that came to Canada in 1999 and has grown quickly ever since. There goal is to improve quality of life by radically reducing the use of chemicals in both cleaning and personal care. I love to clean, seriously, cleaning, laundry, I am all over it! Norwex stuff is great for me. They carry all sorts of cleaning supplies and most of it is antibacterial and so it used with just water.

I don't mind using cleaners in my toilet, sink, and tub but I can't stand putting it on my counter. I hate the thought of putting chemicals on my counter and then preparing food on the same counter. When do the chemicals go away? Do they ever? With the antibacterial cloths you don't have to worry about that. You can clean your counters etc and then while the cloth is sitting under the sink, or wherever you put it, its killing the bacteria within a few hours. Laboratory testing has proven that the Antibac Enviro Cloth is effective against E.Coli, Salmonella, Bird Flu, SARS and many other strains of bacteria! Wow!!!

I got to try out the antibacterial microfiber cloth and I love it. It is a thick, soft, absorbent cloth. I have used it to dust, I just got it wet with water because I like to dust with something wet. I have also used it to clean my counters and table everyday. The best thing that I used it for so far though was in my moms old house. She just moved out of her old house into a new one. She knows how much I like to clean so I went over to help her clean up before she had to hand off the keys. I used the cloth to clean out all of her cupboards and drawers. She had one cupboard that she kept her baking sheets in that was all greasy on the bottom. It wasn't just greasy, it was old greasy. I was so impressed at how easy it was to get off with this cloth, as was my mom.

I also got to try out the spirinettes and a window cloth. The spirinettes are awesome for when you are doing dishes and have some stuck on food. They take it off no problem and there is no chemicals added to it like some other steel wools. They seem to last forever too, unlike the others. The window cloth is great, you don't even need a window cleaner unless your window is really really dirty. I just get mine wet with water and it works great. If you have ever been to a Norwex party you would have seen them smear butter all over the window and the cloth, with no cleaner on it, clean the butter ALL off. No problem!!

Deja was awesome to work with, she was very knowledgeable and helpful. The shipping was super fast and boy was I excited to receive it! Deja will ship to Canada and the USA right to your door for a flat rate of only $3.95! Wow! Deja also has the Norwex warranty that is all products have a 60 day money back guarantee. All microfiber products have an additional "normal use & maintenance" 2-year warranty. Dryer balls are warranted for 1 year, and the magnet ball has a 5-year warranty. You can't go wrong purchasing from Deja and Norwex.
