Midwest Monkeys with giveaway **Closed**

Do you have a child under 4 in your life? Did you know that if they can choke on food bigger than a half an inch. Do you know exactly how big that is? I thought I did, but I guess I didn't exactly.

Midwest Monkeys want to make sure the children in your life are safe. They have created a toddler plate with a 1/2" ring molded into it. Basically you cut up your child's food and if it can fit in the ring, in all directions, so not poking out one side, then its safe for your toddler to eat. Of course you always need to supervise your children while they are eating and make sure they are sitting but this is a huge help.

This is a great plate to have at daycare, grandmas or to take with you when you go out for dinner. You can get them in all sorts of designs that your toddler will love. Be sure to check them out and be safe!

Midwest Monkeys has generously offered my readers a giveaway! One winner will receive a set of three plates from the nature or the animal series. They are also giving everyone a discount code for 20% off (not including shipping) Use code FAFM

I have learned that the AAP's recommendation is that, to reduce the risk of choking, firm foods should be cut into bite sizes no larger than 1/2 inch in any direction for children under the age of 4, because they lack a full set of teeth!

I learned the plate is a permanent reminder and food test gauge for parents, grandparents, babysitters,
daycare providers, or any caregiver, to cut up firm foods within the 1/2 inch bite size.

I learned that they did some research and found recommendations from the leading pediatrician
organization in North America, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Among them is the recommendation that, to reduce the risk of choking, firm foods should be cut into bite sizes no larger than 1/2 inch in any direction for children under the age of
4, because they lack a full set of teeth. This recommendation is recognized by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

I wonder how many people were not aware of this. I for one knew this but am glad its made aware to the public.

Please enter me. Would love to win these plates. Thanks
