Pediped

When I think of my favorite runners for Brandon it would have to be the Pedipeds! We have now had 3 pairs of the washable runners from Pediped and they seriously rock. Brandon is a boy, a very typical dirty boy, and his shoes take a beating. We live on a large piece of property and he likes to run the entire thing. He always ends up filthy and so his fancy shoes only get worn to town and frankly he doesn't like them as much as his Pedipeds!

The Pediped Flex shoes are cute, easy for him to put on and take off on his own, comfortable and best of all machine washable. You literally just throw them in the wash on regular cycle with some soap and they come out looking new every time. We have washed Bradons lots and they still look new, we get compliments on them all the time, people asking where they can get them and how we like them.

Pediped has different styles for every taste and you are sure to find more than one pair that you will fall in love with. How cute are these sandals, I would love to get these for Brandon! If you have started your hunt for shoes and sandals for the Summer you need to check out Pediped! They carry sizes for Newborns up to 7 year olds for boys and girls!

Beginning June 1st and running through July 3rd, pediped® footwear
will host its Purchases with Purpose fundraiser to benefit children’s charities. During this period, select styles of
pediped shoes will be marked down as much as 50 percent on pediped.com. Half of the dollars from this sale will
be earmarked to the pediped foundation, which in turn donates 100 percent of the proceeds directly to children’s
charities including the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Since the company’s inception six years ago, pediped® has been committed to bettering the lives of children and has provided over $1,000,000 in monetary and product donations to children's charities. These donations include more than $445,000 to the Make-A-Wish foundation, which has helped to grant 60 wishes for children. pediped® footwear also donated $80,000 worth of shoes each to the children of Haiti and to Japanese Earthquake victims.

Seasons UV with a Giveaway **Closed**

Here are some interesting facts about the sun:

Most children rack up between 50% and 80% of their lifetime sun exposure before age 18, so it's important that parents teach their children how to enjoy fun in the sun safely...

A cotton T-Shirt has only about 5 UPF...Seasons UV Apparel has 50++UPF.

A bad sun burn before the age of 10 can give you up to a 50% chance of getting skin cancer as an adult.

We all need some sun exposure; it's our primary source of vitamin D, which helps us absorb calcium for stronger, healthier bones. But it doesn't take much time in the sun for most people to get the vitamin D they need, and unprotected exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays can cause skin damage, eye damage, immune system suppression, and even cancer. Even people in their 20s can develop skin cancer.
I am a huge fan of UV wear. I put sunscreen on my kids all of the time but it just doesn't always work for everything. Kristina spends most of the Summer in the pool outside and I am sure that Brandon will be out there just as much this year instead of running around on the deck all day. Sunscreen is always a great start but it just doesn't do it all. Sunscreen needs to be reapplied frequently and even the waterproof ones are not totally waterproof.

When the kids are outside all day, I make sure they drink lots of liquids, wear hats, and their UV wear! The UV wear from Seasons UV is quick drying so that you can go from the pool to the trampoline and back again with out needing to change. You can even just wear the shirts around the yard doing yard work, hanging out on the deck or playing at the park.

Brandon got the Superman once piece with the towel and matching hat for review and we love it. Hes worn it to his swimming lessons many times now and he loves it. He gets compliments on it all the time and loves to wear it. Its still easy for us to get on and off for when he needs to go to the bathroom and should fit him for at least a year, the sizing was great!

Seasons UV has offered up either the Supergirl of Superman one piece with towel, matching hat, sunscreen and sunglasses, a $70 value, for one lucky winner! I also have a 20% off discount code for all of you! Use code sunsmarty for 20% off at the checkout!

Do you eat your rainbow?

The closer we get to Summer the easier it can be to "eat your rainbow" because there is so much more available to eat. Sure you can use food coloring to make a cake all of your rainbow colors or you can have steak and prawns with a gorgeous colorful salad with all sorts of different veggies in it. Maybe peppers, carrots, bok choy, onions and more. You can make wraps with chicken, fish or even pork with lots of colorful veggies in them. For dessert how about some star fruit or kiwis, bananas and strawberries dipped in chocolate? That's our favorite!

If you haven't yet you really need to check out the 5 bloggers who are on Life Made Delicious who have some amazing easy recipes! There are 5 different bloggers on the site and they each offer something different! They all have one thing in common though, they are great cooks and have lots of great recipes to share! Be sure to check them out and don't forget to "eat your rainbow!"

Pink Pepper Pie with a Giveaway **Closed**

Pink Pepper Pie is an exclusive brand name line of clothing for preteen girls, known for its quality, design and its Canadian origin. The line is designed and manufactured in Calgary with a focus on Canadian and North American fabrics.

Pink Pepper Pie proudly sells quality clothing for kids through home parties and is not available through traditional retailers. By becoming a Pink Pepper Pie sales consultant, you get great clothing for your kids, and the opportunity to own your own business.

I find it harder and harder to find Kristina fun and different pieces of clothing. Sure there are the big box stores but she loves finding and wearing things that are different from everyone else and that are a little bit crazy and fun! Pink Pepper Pie was perfect for that. Kristina goes between wearing fancy dresses and yoga wear. She doesn't own a single pair of jeans and I don't think I could convince her to get a pair if I wanted to. Its a good thing I don't :)

Pink Pepper Pie carries crazy, funky, cool yoga wear for kids 4-12. Kristina got to try out the printed flare skort and it screams "Kristina" I couldn't wait to show it to her when she came home from school the day it arrived! She freaked out of course and has worn it lots since then. Other than the design, I love that its a skort and has the shorts underneath of it so she can still run and jump with all the other kids without worrying about wearing a skirt.

If you are looking for some crazy cool yoga wear you have to check out Pink Pepper Pie! They have offered up any one item for one very lucky winner! I know I would love to get my hands on these pants or one of their bubble hoodies next!

Happy May Long Weekend!!!!

Well in less than two hours I will be heading out to do some camping! I won't be going very far this time though, we have decided to just camp in our backyard! The rates went up at a lot of the campsites starting May Long weekend so instead of paying around $100 a night, there are lots of us, we are just going to camp out at home! We live on 5 aces of beautiful property so why not!

We will be totally unplugged, and hanging outside all weekend, unless we go to the pool or something. We are going to go to the beach, play at the park and just sit around the yard and play and relax all weekend long. We have lots of food, drinks and people so I know that it will be a good time. There will be 8 adults and 7 kids so we will be loud and won't be annoying anyone!!!

Kristina is going to head down to Victoria with her Nana for some girl time for the weekend, she is the oldest of her 8 cousins by at 3 1/2 years so she is quite a bit older than the rest and while she does have fun with them she definitely will have a blast with her Nana. She has wanted to spend Victoria Day in Victoria so she will go see the huge parade and spend some time in the Big City!

I hope that all of you have an amazing weekend and that you get to spend it with your families!

Inspire Imports with a Giveaway **Closed**

Seedling is all about giving kids the opportunity to explore their world and their abilities. A child’s natural instinct is to get involved, give anything a go, think creatively and ask questions. Seedling creates products to nurture this process and engage young minds, planting ideas that grow a passion for creative thinking.

So get out there, give it a go and remember; it’s the experience, not the end result, that is the most valuable thing you can give your kids-Seedling.

While visiting family in New Zealand, Lizzy and David discovered Seedling, a small passionate company that designs and manufactures their products in New Zealand.
Although incredibly popular in New Zealand, Australia and Japan, nothing comparable could be found in Canadian stores. Seedling kits include everything a kid needs to explore their creative passions, and build skills and confidence at the same time.

Lizzy and David felt that Canadian children should have the same opportunity to enjoy hands-on experiences that engage children and parents alike, and inspire kids to develop nascent abilities.

Having been “inspired”, Lizzy and David founded Inspire Imports to grow Seedling in Canada.
Kristina and I are trying to find more things to do that we can do just the two of us. Its important to both of us that we find things to do just the two of us and Inspire Imports helped with that! They sent us a make your own soap kit and we went to work making some soap. The first thing Kristina did when I told her what I wanted to do tonight was start deciding who she was going to give each one to! I love that she is so generous!

She decided to give one to Nana, one to one of her teachers and then we got into making it before she could decide who else got some :) It was very easy to make and the only part that had me cringing was when Kristina put some of the colored glycerin in the microwave and it bubbled over the plastic bowl making a huge mess :(

We had a blast though making it and creating soap for some special people. She definitely needed someone to make this with but did lots of it on her own and is very proud of the finished product! Aren't they purdy?

Inspire Imports carries so many kits it hard to even read through them all let alone decide on one. They really have something for everyone and make great birthday gift ideas. Kristina would be thrilled with any of these as a gift!

Inspire Imports is offering either a “Good Things for Boys” OR a “Good Things for Girls” kit for the giveaway.

Kidorable with a Giveaway **Closed**

In 1997, Kidorable sprung from the minds, hearts and efficiency apartment of Liping and Jonathan Domsky. They proclaimed, "The world needs someone to create children's apparel and accessories that are both functional and fun. We can do that."

And so Kidorable was conceived. Starting with lions and cats and bears, oh my, manifested as umbrellas and hangers, Kidorable generated enough sales during its first year to break even and plant fruitful Kidorable seeds throughout the land. The following year sales grew ten fold. Every year since, give or take, a new style and/or product line debuted. And every year, the world joyfully embraced more Kidorable delights, give or take, than the year before.

Children, it turns out, absolutely and unconditionally love Kidorable (almost as much as their parents and other children-loving grown-ups do.)

We have been huge Kidorable fans for a few years now, they are super cute, the kids always love them and they are made with the best quality! They outlast everyone who wears them and are always in great enough condition to be passed down to another child to be enjoyed all over again! Kidorable has so many different lines it makes it hard to choose just one. Last time we, well I, choose the pirate theme and Brandon loved it!

Of course now that he is three I decided that he should be able to help me choose what he was going to get. Of course, even though I tried to steer him to the outer space theme he really wanted to do pirates again! I couldn't argue though because he really has gotten into pirates more and more lately so pirates it was. He was so thrilled when his package arrived.

We got rubber boots and a rain jacket. He loves them both. The boots are so cute with the pirate, the treasure, the parrot and the anchor. The raincoat is awesome to! It has the best hood I have ever seen on a raincoat. Its like a pirates hat that's right on top of the coat. Even though its a bit big he wants to put it on everyday, he eventually takes it off because its to big but then he wants it right back on!

Kidorable carries products for kids 2-6 with some things for kids up to age 11! Be sure to watch the Kidorable Facebook page, they are always having some sort of contest or giveaway going on! Lots of fun!! Today we have an umbrella (of the winners choice) to giveaway to one lucky winner!

Playhouse Disney becomes Disney Junior

I am sure you know by now how big of Disney fans we are in our house! Brandon's favorite new show is Jake and the Never Land Pirates! He is big into pirates right now, thanks to Disney and Playmobile! This new show just feeds on his Pirate addiction. It doesn't matter how many times he has seen the episode where Captain Hook took the shell, he will watch it again and again and again. Thank goodness I don't have to keep watching it with him.

On Friday Playhouse Disney changed there channel over to Disney Junior! If you didn't have a chance to check it out there are some great new shows on the lineup that you have to check out! I already mentioned Jake and the Never Land Pirate, there is also Mickey Mouskersize and even Stella and Sam!

These Disney Junior shows are fun, funny, educational and the kids love them. If you need something to watch on a rainy day or to put on while you are having a shower then this is a great choice!!

I also have a great giveaway for one you Canadians! I have a 4 pack of tickets, two adult and two kids, for the new Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides for one lucky winner to see in theaters!!

Kristina is a dress girl, either that or yoga wear! She really is both extremes, either a super fancy, pretty, twirly dress or yoga clothes. We decided to go with a size 12 and its the perfect length but a bit big around the top. Its a quick and easy fix with with a discreetly placed pin and it will grow with her.

Tidy Books with a Giveaway **Closed**

I have always said that I could never buy my kids to many books. Its kind of the one thing that I don't say no to very often. Books are great for learning, expanding your knowledge, and entertainment! We read books all the time and the kids usually read right before bed! They love to read on their own but especially love being read to, especially Brandon!

What do you use to store your books? I started out with bins when the kids were little and just had some board books and then we moved to a small bookcase. The problem is once they are past board books its so hard for them to see what books they have and then they just pull them all out to see them and then they just end up all over the place!

I had always admired the bookshelves they have at preschools and daycares. They make it so easy to get the books, see what they are and take good care of the books! Check out Tidy Books, they have this bookcase along with a few other great products! They have a Bunk Bed Buddy a Tidy Box and a few other great products!

We were able to try out the bookcase and Brandon and I both love it! I love how organized and taken care of his books are and he loves that they are all so easy to get at. It comes in a few different colors and it even comes with the alphabet on it. You can get it in lowercase or uppercase and once you don't want it on anymore you can just flip the board around so that's its on the back and you don't see it.

The other piece from Tidy Books that I would love to try is the Bunk Bed Buddy for Kristina. Being on the top bunk its hard when she takes her water bottle and books to bed. She ends up with books in her sheets and the water bottle it balanced very carefully on the corner post. It doesn't always work to well either!

If you are in the market for a bookshelf for the kids or have bunk beds you need to check out Tidy Books! Tidy Books has offered up a Tidy Books Box to anyone in the mainland USA and Canada and you get to choose the stain! These Tidy Books Boxes are awesome to store up to 40 books and your little one can carry it around the house! These are a great idea, they even come with a clock on the side so that you can start teaching your child time.
