Scentsy for Mothers Day with Giveaway **Closed**

I have reviewed Scentsy here before and am a big fan. Scentsy is sold by consultants and I have a local one, a friend, who I am waiting to put in an order with for some more bars. But lets start at the beginning.

Inspired by an Oprah episode on “Millionaire Moms,” stay-at-home mom Kara Egan was seized with the urge to start a business of her own.Then, over lunch one day, her sister-in-law Colette Gunnell mentioned this funny thing her neighbor did, breaking scented candles into pieces and melting them in an old potpourri warmer.

Something clicked for Kara. “I heard the words in my mind saying Kara, this is it.” She called Colette that same night and asked, “Why don’t we start a business together selling candle chunks in a warmer?” In July 2003 Scentsy was born. “We actually poured our first set of bars in an ice cube tray,” remembers Colette. “The scent was Red Delicious. I still have some of the original cubes we made.”

Scentsy moved up to Canada only about a year ago and is taking off fast. Basically it is a big warmer that plugs into the wall instead of being a lit candle. Its much safer because if your kids knock it over its not going to start a fire, its just going to spill some wax. You can get the wax bars in almost any scent you can imagine, and you just place it on top of the warmer and it melts and fills your home with the amazing scent.


This would make a great gift for any mom for Mothers Day. I know that any mom would be thrilled to have a safer alternative to candles that makes her home smell amazing, I know I do. It even makes my house smell so much nicer when its not even on!



I got to try one of the new Spring warmers, the Cherry Blossom and three scent bars. I got the go-go-gogi, Mediterranean Spa, and the Mayflower. So far the go-go-gogi is my favourite but like I said I have so many more that I am going to be ordering, you can change the scent everyday. I actually just changed the scent in mine and all I did was fully melt it all, turn the warmer off for about 5 minutes and then pour the wax back into its container. Once the last of it had cooled, about another 5 minutes I peeled it off of the bottom and put it back in the container as well. You can keep reusing it until it runs out of scent. It takes a long time too, about 40-80 hours!
