The ZipBin® Story

A "neat" story! Could messiness be the mother of invention? ZipBin® storage originated when my inventive 10-year-old son, Max, and I put our heads together for some true "out-of-the-box" problem solving. Like many boys, Max loves plastic building blocks. And he likes to dump them on the floor-CRASHHH!! Of course, I loved to see Max play, but I groaned when I heard that loud mess of blocks spilling everywhere. Neither Max nor I liked cleaning up all those little pieces.

Inspired by our problem, we thought creatively about how to solve it until... what if Max's toy bin unzipped to a play mat and zipped back up, capturing his toys? That would take the work out of having fun. It would be neat! And that's the name we chose for the company - Neat-Oh!® - that would introduce ZipBin® storage to the world

Brandon has so many small toys they are hard to contain in one area! He has his animals, his dinosaur collection, lots of cars and trucks and more! Its hard to find a place to store them all without having bins all over the house and plain old bins are just tacky! ZipBin has come up with not only a solution but a great solution at that.



ZipBins are just that. They are bins that zip up with great designs on them that when you unzip them you can use them as a playmat. I love the idea. There is one on its way to us for Brandon's dinosaurs but I didn't want to wait to share this with all of you!!



I love the idea of playmats but don't want to have it out all of the time and bins are good at keeping pieces away but can be boring so this ties it all in together! Holiday Gift Guide 2010 - My favorites of the year!

So I have a little ole $5 Walmart Gift Card kicking around in my wallet and its only good in the US so I thought that while sharing my favorites with you I would giveaway my gift card too! Just read through and comment and let me know something else I reviewed this year that you loved! You can live in Canada or the US but keep in mind its only valid in the US! So I think that my first favorite is an obvious one, I use it a few times a week and think that I love it a little bit more every time! Its my Dyson vacuum! Its really sent from Heaven and makes my cleaning house routine so much easier! The pivoting ball is obviously awesome, the fact that it never looses suction, seriously, and the fact that it actually gets everything up off my floor the first time is the best! Vacuuming shouldn't take all day, or hurt your back, and with the Dyson you get everything you could want in a vacuum, plus some!

This one is more recent, the Little Looster stool that wraps around the toilet so that Brandon can get up on his own to use the big toilet. It doesn't get in anyone elses way when they need to go :) Seriously the best mom invented product I have come across! We have been able to get rid of our potty and he only uses the big toilet now, one less things for me to have to clean now!!

Speesees, its hard to pin down which clothes are favorites of mine but Speesees is definitely one of them! They are so soft and cozy, organic and comfy. Brandon rarley wears jeans, mostly he wears sweats, and Speesees has some super cute ones that he lives in! They go up to a size 4t, be sure to check them out!

Misikko's hair straightners! We use it all the time! Kristina has super crazy curly hair and its such a pain to style, unless we flat iron it! Its so easy to do with our Misikko flat iron, it heats up super fast and does a great job on Kristina's crazy hair!

Bean Bag Factory! The kids play with their beanbags everyday! They are something that will last for ages and are so much fun. They don't just sit in them either! They jump off the couch onto them, they hide under them, the use them as islands and the floor is water and they jump from island to island! These are definitely a great investment! After 6 or so months they still look brand new, and did we ever put them through the wringer, that says good quality to me!

M&M Meats is a huge favorite in our house! I could eat an entire apple crisp to my self and my hubby can down a platter of their scallops and bacon in one sitting! They are a staple for us! Kris takes the single serve meals and the stuffed chicken breasts for lunch all the time and I can't ever have enough in the freezer because we go through it all so fast!

Agoo activewear. Kristina doesn't like jeans at all. She is either in a dress or in yoga pants, everyday! We can't find jeans to fit her but she could care less anyways! She is happiest in yoga pants and our Agoo pants, capris and tees have lasted so well! They hold up great, are easy to wash and fit so nicely! I would make her entire wardrobe Agoo if I could!

Schleich! Brandon is a huge dinosaur fan, I mean huge! I think this Christmas morning he will be most excited about the box of 4 Schleich dinosaurs! They are a great price on Chapters.com and you can find Schleich at many toy stores! We love them and look for them everywhere! I am actually in the middle of having my favorite toy store starting to carry them!

Pedipeds! We have lots of shoes that we love but Pedipeds are definitely at the top of my list! They are durable, some are washable, and best of all great for your kids feet! It certainly doesn't hurt that they are cute too! They have definitely done their homework to know what is good for kids feet and how to create a shoe that works well for them!

Umi is my favorite shoe for Kristina, we love them for Brandon too of course but they sent Kristina some hot pink boots back in September and we are in love with them. They are butter soft and so comfortable for her! She never complained once about having to break them in or them hurting her. She wears them all the time and loves them!

UV Skinz are an everyday thing in our house in the Summer! We live in them, they are cute, breathable, cool, comfortable, and easy on the wallet. Best part, they are UV protecting! Its a cute shirt or outfit that you put on your kids, or yourself, and they protect your skin from the sun better than any sunscreen can. Think about how much you would save on sunscreen if you were covered in a UV Skinz and only had to do your face!

None of this was paid for in any way or could be bought! This are my own thoughts and opinions and I just wanted to share some of my favorites with you!

Here is my Holiday hint for you all! Buy used, and watch for sales. I guess its to hints but they are great ones! I start shopping usually in July when things are on sale and pick up bits and bobs here and there. This year I actually made a list of what I had bought so that I could keep track and not over do it like I usually do. I always have some used gifts under the tree for the kdis! This year it was just mostly for Brandon but I did pick up Kristina a used puzzle. Kids don't know the difference and love whatever you get them. Whether it be from a consignment store, garage sale or off a swap and shop on Facebook I love a deal!

Holiday Gift Guide - Mabels Labels

Have you started your wrapping yet? Well I did about an hour and a half next door at my mother in laws and got the bulk of it done! I love sitting down with my mother in law every year with a cup of tea and hanging out, chatting, and showing her all of the cool things that I picked up for the kids! She has even taught me a thing or two about wrapping. When I think I have cut the paper to small or it just won't fit she shows me how we can make it work! She is certainly handy to have around :)

One thing I have learned over the years is that the tape on to and from stickers are a waste of time and tape. The best thing you can get for your to and from tags is stickers and Mabels Labels has some great ones! I just got mine to say To: and then Love the Watsons and have some snowflakes in the background, on green, blue and red!!! I love it. Now I don't have to fill in our names again and again and again and Kristina, who loves to help me wrap, can just fill in the to portion!

It just takes another step out of the whole wrapping process and makes it that much easier for me. I love everything that makes anything easier for me!!! I am so organized and love organizing things so anything to help me with that is awesome in my books! Be sure to check them out!!

I LOVE purses!!! I seriously can't get enough of them and the worst part is I usually get sick of purses before I wear them out! If I really like it I keep it in the closet and bring it out now and again but mostly once I am sick of it, I am done with it. I also can't stand changing purses. I am used to having more of a hobo bag so I think that I would really love the tote bag but the classic does hold all of my stuff, its just full. Holiday Gift Guide - Sprogs with a Giveaway **Closed**

Stocking stuffers are hard to find for older kids, Brandon is happy with some cars, planes and little animals and people. Cheap and fun and he loves it all! Some candy is great and then small toys that she actually likes are hard to come by. I find that at this age, 8, she doesn't actually play with a lot of toys. I love how the cups, bottles and utensils all have weight in the bottom so they kind of bobble and roll around without tipping over! Holiday Gift Guide - Little Looster

If there is something you are desperate to find that just isn't out there Little Looster shows you that you can do it yourself! Monica Mylet, mommy of 3 came up with the design and need after parenting 3 kiddos through the potty training process! She knew what she wanted and went about making it happen! She even kept it local finding local companies to help create, package and more!



What did she invent? Its called the Little Looster and its the best potty training aid that I have found! Its essentially a stool for the toilet so that your little one can get up and down themselves as well as have somewhere to rest there little legs while using the loo. The best part, you don't need to move it when you need to use the loo! It wraps around the toilet with lots of room for the kids but doesn't get in your way at all! Trust me, I have been using it for a few weeks! We have even since gotten rid of our potty!


Brandon feels very confident on the Little Looster and even Kris doesn't feel like he needs to move it out of his way! We even just used it as a stool for Kris when we had to replace the tub surround lol!

Elegant Baby was kind enough to send us a beautiful set of wooden blocks for Brandon. He is so into stacking and sorting things right now. He has a set of blocks that stack inside each other and is obsessed with stacking them in the right order. Now with these new blocks from Elegant Baby he likes to sort all his wooden blocks by color and size and then stack all of the same ones together. Soon he will be able to sort by letters and start spelling out words! I think that's coming sooner than later.

The blocks are a great size for little hands and are painted beautifully. They have letters painted in upper and lower case and even thought to do extra vowels. There are animals and things painted on the other side with coordinating words matching the item. They are made really well and will be a great toy to pass down to my grand kids one day! Other than the fact that wooden toys are much safer, less toxic, than plastic toys, my favorite part is how long they last and that they can be passed down to other kids again and again!

Swedish clothing is by far my favorite! They have the most fun and funky style of kids clothing that I have ever seen! We got a full outfit for Brandon for review and he loves it, not as much as I do though! Its more of a mellow outfit, a yellow top with a barn on it and some brown cords, and not up on the site yet. What I love about it is that its kids friendly with the barn, Brandon loves the cow and tractor on it and I love how soft it is and how well made it is. Its holding up to his wear and tear extremely well. The pants have a really nice soft cotton waist band above the corduroy so they are a nice soft fit at his waist and don't dig in like button up cords can.

He even got some really cute matching socks. There is a barn on and some stripped ones! He asks to wear them all the time, he is allowed to choose his undies and socks and I pick his clothes. So he must really like them if he wants to wear them all the time!!! I really wished I had picked out something for Kristina because she really likes to wear the funky crazy and different clothing! Next time!

They have a huge selection of dinnerwear, bakewear, cookwear and so much more! You really have to take a look around their site and see what they have! They have so many different price points if you are looking for gifts and you can find someone for almost everyone weather they are into cooking, baking, hosting party's or even drinking wine!

We got a set of the Culinaria set if cocoa and I love it! Its gorgeous and nice and solid! They have a really nice weight to them and are holding up so well! They have been banged around lots and so far look good as new! I had some old plates that looked nice, they were cheapies, and as soon as I sat them on the kitchen table they were lopsided. One spun around, the center bottom was lower than the bottom. These dishes from Oneida are superior and will definitely be my go to brand the next time I need to purchase dishes.

I love the easy care that come along with them. They are microwave and dishwasher safe, the color will last and last and they aren't about to chip any time soon! The bowls are an awesome size, not to small like so many others I have used and the plates hold the perfect amount of food. I love the side plates as well, not tiny but hold a good sized salad or are good for lunch! The mugs are a great size too! They hold a great sized mug of coffee or hot cocoa and feel so nice in your hand!

I have become a little bit obsessed with wall art ;) It is such an easy way to change up the look of a room drastically and with easy or to just give it some color or fun!
