What did you look for when you were looking to buy your first highchair? I wanted something that was easy to clean, comfortable and of course you want it to look nice in your house! That really is a big part of it. Your little one can be in a highchair from 4 months to 3 years! That's almost 3 years of this big thing being in your kitchen, and that's if you only have one baby! If you have another you can add a few more years to that! Stokke has answered everyone's prayers with there gorgeous Tripp Trapp!!
The Tripp Trapp® chair, created in 1972 by the designer Peter Opsvik, has never been bettered. In 1972, revolution was a fact. Back then no one had seen anything like the Tripp Trapp®, and almost 40 years later it is still unique: the only child’s chair that can take you from baby to adult, keeping you secure and comfortable all the way. The Tripp Trapp® designer’s inspiration came from watching his own young son, Tor, struggle to find a comfortable position to sit in at their family table. Having grown out of his old-fashioned high-chair, but still far too small to sit on an adult’s chair, Tor was left dangling his legs and struggling to reach the table.
Highchairs are definitely an investment and if you do it right the first time it can last years and years and throughout many kids! If you don't you find yourself buying more than one and never ending up super happy with any of them, if you are like me! When the Tripp Trapp arrived I couldn't have been more excited to put it together! Brandon was just as excited, he got to help me with the tools!
Here are some of my favorite features of the Stokke Tripp Trapp! I love that you can use it from age of being able to hold their head up to adult! You can easily adjust the height when you want someone else to use it or when your little one grows and it needs a change. There are all sorts of attachments that you can get to make it more suited to your child and your needs. You can adjust it to many different table heights or even a desk!
The Tripp Trapp is so easy to clean, you just wipe it down with no cracks and crevices for food to hide in. I love that there isn't a vinyl cover for it because they just soak up the food and end up disgusting! Because of how the Tripp Trapp is made its very good for teaching your child good posture and provides great back support. It is made out of cultivated beechwood and comes in a huge variety of colors!
After Brandon used the chair for about a week we decided that he would go back to his homemade booster from his great papa and Kristina would use the Tripp Trapp. She has a really hard time sitting up to the table properly and she just looks uncomfortable so we thought this would be perfect for her. Turns out its great for her! She can sit up to the table at the perfect height, without dangling feet, without having to lean forward and end up with a frustrated girl and parents!
I would highly recommend this chair to anyone who is looking for one! I even read a great article on why this is a great chair for someone with a disability. Google it, I don't have permission to link to it! Also be sure to check out the other amazing products from Stokke! They have an amazing organizing system that I would die for!
