One thing I have never had an issue spending money on is books. Books are worth their weight in gold as far as I am concerned. I loved to read as a child and hope that that has passed down to my kids. Kristina is struggling to read, she can read but is at the bottom of her grade level with reading. I will buy any books for her to help to interest her in reading and do just about anything to encourage her.

When I had the chance to review some books and give some away from Free Spirit Publishing I was all over it. Free Spirit Publishing doesn't carry your typical fairy and dragon books. They have books about behaviour, life changes, social skills and so much more.

Kristina and Brandon both received some books from Free Spirit Publishing and they are huge hits. Brandon got some board books about being kind to animals, saying goodbye, and tidying up. Not only are they well illustrated and written they are about things that we all want our children to learn about. They are either life lessons of just day to day things that we all do. They are easy to read and long enough to get the point across yet short enough to keep his attention throughout the entire book. They are also great for when your child is learning to read.

The books Kristina got are great as well. She got a book about ways to get into nature and how to build a greener future. It has 150 ideas on how to do it and of course there are the ride your bike and be an example ideas (not that those are bad ideas they are just old) it also has some really new great ideas too! She also got a book about hurtful words and how to play it safe. The Words are not for hurting book is for 4-8 and they have a board book as well for the younger crowd. I just can't say enough about how well written these books are. They really spent the time to use just the write words, and are the right length and can really hold your child's interest. I would recommend these to anyone!
