Arran followed a path that led from the farm to India and ultimately to becoming one of the pioneers in the organic foods movement. He and Ratana founded Nature’s Path in 1985, and our family is still very much involved in the day-to-day operations of the company—so much so in fact, people call Ratana “Mom.”
Organic. That just means it’s made in nature, right?
Well, not exactly. We talk a lot about being organic, but it’s more than just a matter of being “natural” or not. Organic is a way of growing food that has a profound effect on our bodies and our planet. And it’s the way we’ve been growing food for a long, long time.
Organic agriculture is easier on the planet. When the soil is teeming with microbial life, it becomes the perfect medium in which to grow food. That means, during the lifecycle of an organic crop, no agro-chemicals are released into the air and groundwater. Then there’s the question of personal preferences. Many people simply don’t want pesticide residues in their diet. And lots of folks think organic strawberries taste better (of course they do)!
Natures Path Organics sent us some cereals to review. We got some of the Enviro-kids cereals and the Natures Path Organics cold cereals. They made sure to send lots of gluten-free cereals for my husband. He has been in heaven this last two weeks eating nice cold cereal every morning, instead of a banana or skipping breakfast all together.
There are so many different varieties and flavors. These cereals are in grocery and specialty stores all over. We have eaten them many times in the past and will continue to do so in the future. My husband thought that it was great to have different options for breakfast that were nutritious and filling.
Natures Path Organics have generously offered my readers a chance to win a gift package of 5 Natures Path Organics products. Win New Crunchy Maple Sunrise, Optimum Strawberry and Yogurt, Pumpkin FlaxPlus granola, EnviroKidz Leapin Lemurs bars, and EnviroKidz Gorilla Munch!!!
