Build a Bear Huggable Heros

We are huge Build a Bear fans in our house. Kristina has a handful of bears, bunny's and dogs and lots and lots of clothes for her little friends. She has been playing with Build a Bears for a few years now and at 8 she is nowhere near bored of them, I think she will play with them for years to come. She loves getting them dress up, taking them out with us, and putting them in their pj's and taking them to bed with her!

We are also big fans of the Build a Bear Huggable Heros program. Build a Bear is helping out kids who are helping themselves and others! This is a great way to give those kids a big pat on the back and make them realize how special they are and how special what they are doing is!

Nominations are now being accepted for the Eighth Annual Huggable Heroes program that recognizes and rewards remarkable young leaders for positive contributions to their communities and the world.

Now, more than ever, young people are stepping up to make a difference in their communities. Through its Huggable Heroes® program, Build-A-Bear Workshop recognizes and encourages young leaders, ages eight to 18, who provide extraordinary service in their communities and around the world. The eighth annual search for these special people is now on!

Anyone, ages eight and above, is eligible to nominate a candidate (and kids can nominate themselves) by visiting http://www.lovehugssmiles.com/HuggableHeroes.aspx or by picking up an entry form at any Build-A-Bear Workshop store across Canada.

Entries will be narrowed down to 75 semi-finalists in March and to 25 finalists by the end of April. Ultimately, 10 new Huggable Heroes (eight from the United States and Puerto Rico and two from Canada) will be selected and join the ranks of more than 100 other amazing youths from the previous seven years. Each new Huggable Hero will receive a $7,500 scholarship toward his or her college education and $2,500 donation from the Build-A-Bear Workshop Foundation to a charity of his or her choice. In addition, the Huggable Heroes will win a trip for themselves and a guardian to St. Louis, the World Bearquarters of Build-A-Bear Workshop.

“Our Huggable Heroes program was born of the desire to encourage and reward young people to give back to their communities,” said Build-A-Bear Workshop Founder and Chief Executive Bear Maxine Clark. “While the monetary prize provides an incentive, it also represents an investment in both the causes these kids support and their education so they can continue to cultivate their leadership skills and achieve even bigger goals.”

Be sure to tell the little people in your life and help Build a Bear help them!

Cheerios First Foods Giveaway **closed**

I still remember the first time I fed Kristina peas from a jar and the face that she made. I don't blame her, they were gritty and not the best smelling and she spat them out. I kept trying them but she never took to their taste and texture. Its hard when you are feeding babies, what to give first, how much, do you make your own food, do you buy store bought. If you go onto Mom chat rooms and sites to find out answers to your common concerns, like most of us do, hello google, then you have probably been to babycenter.ca!

Its a great site with tons of information about getting pregnancy, pregnancy, giving birth, babies and even preschoolers! They have so much information and is a Canadian site which is so nice for us Canadians! There is a new section on babycenter.ca now that is all about your baby's first foods, in partnership with Cheerios! Its got lots of info about great first foods for your baby, including the best first food, Cheerios, we have all given our babies Cheerios! They are great for a tidy, quick and healthy snack while you are out and about, they are great for little ones learning how to feed themselves, and of course make a great breakfast for Mom!

Mom Central has a great giveaway for you today! A Cheerios prize pack worth $50!! It will include a on-the-go Tot container, Cheerios play book, a box of Cheerios, a bowl and utensil set and a $20 cash card!

I am here

Sorry, I am here, I just can't seem to wrap my head around anything but painting with the kids and cuddling on the couch this week. I am super tired and have had a week that's way off schedule. My bff has been on holidays all week so we have been hanging out lots and the kids have had a great week! I also had an old friend that I have known for over 10 years, but we haven't been close the last few but still saw each other and visited, just didn't plan it, does that make sense. We ran into each other and visited and have lots of friends/family in common, so even though we haven't spent much consistent time together I am pretty upset by her passing. She was young, in her 30s and passed away of cancer, I hate cancer, it takes so many good people away from us! Whenever someone passes from cancer I can't help but think of all of the others that have passed, its a sad time!

I do have some posts to get up, I am working on it, I just wanted you all to know that I am here and will be posting again soon, I just need to get my head in the game!

EdenFantasys is a safe, secure, and very knowledgeable place to shop! They have hundreds upon hundreds of products for you and/or your spouse to choose from! With Valentines Day just around the corner this is a great time to check out what EdenFantasys can offer you and your mate!

They carry everything from toys and oils to swings and handcuffs. Wether you are looking for something different to spice things up or just some essentials to stock up on for the Holidays! Back before we had kids I used to leave a sexy magazine under my hubbys pillow every Christmas Eve. Now I think that it would be fun to leave some type of small toy or accessory under his pillow for Valentines Day, its not like the kids would see it anyways!
Do you ever buy things from sex stores or do you shop online? Do you buy anything at all? I used to shop in town for some things but with only one store it was hard to find what I wanted and to even know what was out there! EdenFantasys has everything you could think of and some things you never would have thought of!

Skyler with a Giveaway and discount code! **Closed**

Skyler is a clothing company that provides women with fashionable clothing that is also comfortable! We address specific issues that women have with clothing and try to eliminate those issues by using a unique combination of stretchy fabrics, updated fashion, and versatile fit. Women in general have a problem finding clothing that is both comfortable and fashionable; there is almost always a compromise in one of these areas. Skyler solves this problem by creating clothing that never compromises. We use soft, high quality fabrics that are always stretchy and we make sure the fit addresses common areas that make women feel uncomfortable.
I am a yoga mama, it makes me sad the days I have to work because I can't wear my yoga wear to work but when I don't work I live in it! Skyler sent me a gorgeous Rosy Rain Jacket that I could have cried over it not fitting. Its a good thing it fit my mother in law, she could have cried she was so happy to get it! I got the size XL and it fits on the small side. I would say its more of a typical large size. It fit my mother in law to a tee and it looks so good on her! She said that it keeps her super warm even though its not a thick jacket, its really warm. When she goes on walks all she needs underneath is a light sweater or a shirt and shes toasty warm. The detail above the waist has to be my favorite feature. It makes her look so slim and is so flattering on her that her daughter, my sister in law tried to steal it from her! Here are some of the features of the Rosy Rain Jacket

Waterproof, breathable and windproof
Cozy fleece lining
Full hood that covers big hair
Zipper cover on collar
Hidden side seam pockets
Mid thigh length
Tailored but not too tight
Dintex fabric provides an impenetrable layer to prevent wind and water from coming in
Made in Canada

I was also sent the Jojo pants and they are my new favorite pants! I wear them whenever I can and they are clean. They are so unbelievably soft that whenever I see someone (that I know) I tell them to touch them lol. I can't get over how soft they are. It really feels like you aren't wearing any pants. They are a nice wide leg which is my favorite style, well along with a bootcut style. But depending on what you are wearing with it! Everyone that sees them says how much they love them and how good they look on me. They fit me great at an XL, like most yoga pants do. I would say you are your usual yoga pant size with Skyler. The waistband is made from a different fabric, bamboo would just slip, but now that I am used to the different top they are awesome. I love that its made in Canada and can't wait to get another pair of pants, maybe the Elizabeth ones next! Here are the features of the Jojo pants

Relaxed, loose leg pant
Fold over rib waistband
Signature Skyler no muffin top waistband (no elastic)
Ideal for lounging, yoga, or casual everyday wear
Soft and luxurious
Made from fade resistant Bamboo Jersey fabric
Bamboo fabric is fully sustainable, regenerating naturally in 55 days. It requires little pesticides and irrigation while being biodegradable
Made in Canada

I have a great discount code for you to try something out from Skyler!!! Use code FNFMOM it is valid from Jan 12th – 26th for 20% off! If that wasn't great enough Skyler also has a great giveaway for you! You can win an motivational tee in the size and saying of your choice! Front: ” I work out…” Back: “ so I can eat more Cake!”Front: “I run...” Back: “so I can drink more wine!”Front: “I practice yoga…” Back: “so I can save on therapy!” assuming its available (the website will tell you)

The Body Shop with a Giveaway **Closed**

I am a huge Body Shop fan and love going in to their store to check out all of the new scents, makeup and and goodies that they get in! I can't walk past a Body Shop without going inside, I think its all the scents that draw me in :)

Although I am not an everyday makeup wearer I do enjoy wearing makeup, I just don't put the effort into putting it on everyday although I feel much better when I actually do. When I wear makeup I am pretty picky about what kind of makeup I wear. I can't stand makeup that wears off and fades well before my day is over. I like it to last about 12 hours, it sounds like a lot to ask for but I don't think it is. I have found makeup that's great and if I find new makeup and it doesn't work like that then I will just throw it out! There isn't enough time in the day for me to put makeup on in the first place to just have to go and reapply it a few hours later.

The makeup that The Body Shop sent me is awesome, I have been using it for a few weeks and love it! There is nothing I would change or want to see different about this makeup, except to maybe have more of it lol. The colors are gorgeous and last all day long! Kristina's favorite has to be The Sparkler Atomizer which you just puff on small sparkles and they just shimmer, so pretty if you are out dancing or just want to brighten up your face or chest.

The eye colors are gorgeous in pinks and purples and this nail polish was gorgeous! A nice nail polish, especially one like this that doesn't start chipping off the same day you put it on, can really finish off an outfit. It can also make you feel pretty when just vegging at home in you jammies like I am doing right now lol!

The Body Shop has a great gift basket for two lucky winners!!!

Schleich Giveaway **Closed**

I am a huge fan of Schleich!!! I seriously can't get enough of it! I end up mesmerized by it when I go into a store that carries it, there is so much to look at and choose from that I just stare at it and just try and make a decision. Brandon got lots of Schleich for Christmas and he loves it too! He got dragons, dinosaurs and guys! We love it and it will last for years and years!

Schleich offered to send us the new 2011 World National Parks calendar for the kids and I can't get over how gorgeous it is. I thought it would just be like any old calendar, boring and kind of lame but I love it! It is pictures of a lot of the animals that they sell but real pictures of those animals and they are simply gorgeous!

I have another Schleich 2011 World National Parks calendar, that isn't available in stores, to giveaway so if you want one please comment here telling me who you would like it for!

Decorating

As I have mentioned before I love to decorate my place again and again and love to move things around and I guess you could say I have a bit of a problem with it lol. I can do it all the time and I have a huge problem with getting bored of things before they get much dust on them. Kris hates that but I get bored and that's something that I love to do lol!

One thing that I have been thinking about this Winter is getting a nice cozy modern rug. We have laminate and tile all throughout our place and some old gross carpet in our bedroom. I always end up with super cold feet and just can't keep them warm without socks, slippers and sometimes I even have to wear my hubby's wool socks. I would so much rather be barefoot but its way to cold.

What do you do to keep your tootsies warm? Do you have carpet for flooring or do you have a big throw rug or do you not get cold feet? I need some help deciding what to do, is it really worth buying a nice big new rug for the living room because I want a nice one not a $30 one so I really need to be sure of myself!

Scout with a Giveaway **Closed**

At Scout, we design for real kids. Our modern style enhances without overwhelming. Scout clothes are so comfortable kids will want to wear them every day (and night!) And they can because they're made to withstand years of wear. Organic cotton and fair trade manufacturing reflect our commitment to their health and future. Scout is a family owned and operated company based in Oakland, CA.

We were sent some samples from Scout for Brandon and they are a new favorite that is definitely going to the top of the pile in his drawer. They are organic, so so cute and soft and very little boy looking if that even makes sense. They are not babyish and he doesn't look like he is a little boy trying to dress like a grownup, he just looks like a super cute and handsome little dude!

We got the Slate Discover pants, which are kind of a wider leg and have some side pockets with a zippered pocket on one side on the back. They are a bit nicer than plain joggers but still nice and comfortable for him. We also got the Night/Slate Discover Henley which is so cute! I love all of the different stripes and colors of all of the Henley's as well as the Adventure tees! They are all so cute and I love them all, the elbow detail is especially nice. I really would like one of each ;)

The sizing was fabulous, Brandon is typically in a 3 for jeans or pants but usually a 4 in organic cotton pants, for whatever reason. The Scout organic pants though in a 4 are actually to big for him! I am thrilled because that means that they will fit him next year and most others only go to a size 4 which fit him now! I also love that Scout goes all the way up to a size 7/8 so Brandon will be able to wear organic for much longer! I assumed that the size 7/8 would be to small for Kristina but maybe it wouldn't be! Go Scout! How cute is this girls dress?

All around I am super thrilled with the outfit that Scout sent to us and will definitely be back for more! Check them out for yourself be sure to enter to win $50 to spend at Scout!

Welcome back!

I hope you all had the most amazing holiday, we had the best one yet! I really think that it gets better every year! The kids just get more and more into it and the magic seems to get bigger and bigger every year!

I had a nice few weeks off from posting but I have still been lining up more for the New Year and can't wait to share even more with you all! I am always getting bored with things, I don't know if you are the same, I used to rearrange my living room every month until we moved into this place because it all only fits one way. Now I just move toys around and rearrange the kids room :)

So my question for all of you is are you liking how my blog looks? Would you change anything? Design wise or content wise or anything else you can think of! I am always open to constructive criticism!
